Best solution for worn out dance shoes!
This is a life-saver! I've used it on several pairs of my dance shoes, and it has extended their life so that I don't have to constantly buy new shoes that are in great condition apart from the worn out soles. And it's a much quicker, more hassle free option than taking my shoes to a cobbler to replace the soles for me. I've purchased both the gold tan and light tan colors, and each of them match my shoes very well. They aren't an exact match to the original color of the shoes' suede, but I didn't expect them to be. I use the gold tan on my dark tan satin rhythm shoes, and the light tan on my flesh satin court shoes as well as my tan leather practice shoes, and unless you're looking at them up close you can't tell that anything has been stuck onto the bottom of the shoes. The suede is easy to cut-I just traced the bottom of my shoes onto the paper on the back, and that has worked beautifully for me. Definitely take your time and apply them to the shoes as precisely as possible, just to avoid having an annoying imbalance on the bottom of your shoes, and try to stand in the shoes immediately after applying. This way you know if you need to adjust the new suede, and then putting the weight in the shoes for 5 or 10 minutes help to adhere the glue to the bottom of the shoe. The glue has held up extremely well... The original bottoms of my shoes were completely smooth from wear, and I'm sure had a ton of dust, but the glue has held the suede on flawlessly. I've had it on the bottoms of my shoes for over 4 months, and it is the same as when I first stuck it on. Now, instead of throwing out a well-loved, comfortable pair of shoes after a few months, I can restore the soles at home and extend the wear of my favorite shoes. I'll definitely be buying this again!

Great option - easy to use and dance away on!
These were easy to use and worked to suede my most comfortable tennis shoes! I have extra wide feet so most dancing shoes or even vans/less don't work for me. The suede got me through a weekend Lindy exchange and probably 20 hours of dancing without any issue or coming up at all, so they have stuck well so far. I cannot speak to long term use, but it definitely stands up to a lot of use pretty immediately. And it means I got dancing shoes for way cheaper than custom ordering to fit extra wide feet! A great option when normal dance shoes are out of budget or feasibility.

From street shoe to dance shoe - an affordable option!
This suede is the perfect solution for turning my comfortable street shoes into wood-floor-ready dance shoes. I've recently gotten back into salsa dancing, after over 20 years of not dancing, and I immediately hurt my right foot from practicing too many right spins in a row. High heels are now my nemesis. But most ladies dance shoes are narrow, and quite unsupportive, and I can't stand even 10 minutes of wearing them. My solution has been to find comfortable supportive shoes that don't have an excessively sporty tread, and add this suede to the bottoms. My shoes are Dansko and taos brands, both of which are smooth enough to give the adhesive a good amount of surface area to stick. The adhesive works great, so long as I am dancing on a relatively slick surface. I tried one dance on a low-pile carpet and afterwards could feel the suede starting to get rolled up along one of the edges. But wood, smooth concrete, and those portable vinyl dance floors all work great. Depending on the size of your foot, the size of your shoe, and the amount of your shoe you want covered, you can likely get 2-3 pairs worth of coverage out of one sheet. I only apply the suede to the area of the shoe that is under the ball and arch of my foot, never to the heel area. This both reduces the amount of suede I need, but also makes it so that my step can be stable for most of the time, but torque is reduced on a turn - good for protecting your joints! I've seen people sell dance socks that you can slip over street shoes - or I suppose you could even repurpose a pair of your old existing socks by cutting off the toe and slipping them over your shoes. However, I can't help but think that option is extremely unattractive. Adding suede to the bottom of your shoes is unobtrusive and simple - although I did admittedly buy some of the red suede thinking I could make my shoes into faux Louboutins. Don't bother! After use, the suede just picks up the dirt and dust of the floors and the original color of the suede is totally lost. I'm sure there are some really great cobblers who could convert running shoes into dance shoes by sanding down the tread first - but that option might be as expensive as the shoes themselves. This adhesive-backed suede is an affordable alternative, and not as damaging to the shoe if you one day want to remove the suede.

5 stars for DIY dance shoes! 3 stars for shipping
EDIT: I just bought my 2nd set since they are getting shiny slippery and one of the edges is starting to come loose (after 4 months of dancing in them twice a week, and accidentally dancing in them outside on a stone patio one day). I love these but am bummed with the shipping! Everything was perfect the first time but this time they sent it folded in half, so there was a permanent crease down the middle. I asked to exchange it since I didn’t want to risk that area detaching from my shoes prematurely, but the replacement just arrived with the same exact problem, only it was even more creased and a little crumpled. Hopefully 3rd time’s a charm to get a sheet that arrives flat. ****** I’m using these with Keds for swing dancing — so far I’ve put maybe 15-20 hours wear into them and they’ve been fantastic. Great option for suede soles if you’re not ready to buy expensive dance shoes or want to use your own sneakers! Mine have zero signs of anything coming loose, if anything dancing has completely sealed them into the soles. The only two little things - it would be nice if they sold a charcoal grey option since that’s what color they eventually turn anyway, ha. And the adhesive was smelly when applying and makes my dance bag smell a little, but it’s pretty minor. It’s not noticeable at all wearing them. Overall, definitely recommend!

using it as insole
I have a few sandals that have a slippery, plastic like insole. They are comfortable, but make 'slurping' sounds when it gets hot (yeah you all know what I mean! I traced my sandal, created a pattern then cut the suede. Put it in my sandals and they are even more comfortable than before and no more slurping..... It's the right thickness, not too much so it would make the sandals not fit well. Easy to cut with scissors. Pay a bit of attention before you put them in as the adhesive is strong and not repositionable. I just started with a small area and peeled slowly.

Did the trick for one evening of dancing
With two days to go before a 20s dance event, I remembered that the shoes I wanted to wear had very, very unslippery treads on the bottoms, which would not work with trying to do the Charleston. I had planned to try duct tape or masking tape, but I know from experience that doesn't work so well. Searching on Amazon came up with this product. My order arrived in two days. With everything thing else I had going on, I literally left it until the last 10 minutes to try the shoe suede. I quickly sprayed and wiped off the soles of the shoes (no wire brush available) with cleaner. I traced the rough size needed and cut out two ovals. I adhered them as instructed, hoping I didn't have the rare kind of sole that it doesn't stick to. I tested it a little bit, crossed my fingers and went out. I wore the shoes for over 4 hours, and danced for at least 2, and the soles stayed on the entire time without moving. They provided just the right amount of glide without being dangerously slippery. This was not on a studio-quality hardwood floor. It was a typical tile museum floor. By cutting only the oval size I needed, I should be able to use this sheet for several pair of shoes, so I hope to cost-effectively use this sheet. Two drawbacks are the moderate odor of this sheet (it is suede after all) before you put it on your shoes, and the cost. Half or 2/3 the cost of this sheet would be more acceptable for just one IMO. I don't wear these shoes for dancing very often, so I probably won't be able to comment on how long the suede stays on or lasts, but one night was what I needed. I can't say about this particular product, I see no reason right now why it wouldn't, but I don't really expect anything DIY to be able to last on the bottom of a pair of shoes - I would be very impressed if this lasted longer than a few wearings with repeated dancing. I'll update if there are any changes to my review.

Excellent choice for dance shoe soles!
Nice and thick, but still flexible. I got this to turn an ordinary pair of casual slip on sneakers into dance shoes for my 14 year old son. He has no desire to compete and have to wear tie up oxford style shoes, on top of the fact he has very wide feet. With dance shoes being so far to find in extra wide, this was a simple enough option. I traced the sole of the shoes onto the back the suede sheets, cut it out, trimmed any excess, and stuck them on the bottoms. Worked like a charm. The shoes are navy and have white soles so this beige color works perfectly. I will be back for more.
