Have not used a turntable in decades until I received one this Christmas . Tried to hook it up to my receiver and no sound, wth. So after a google search, found out I needed a Pre Amp, the turntable doesn’t have one, neither did my newer receiver. All the years messing with home audio and learned something new that you need a pre amp when using a turntable to convert phono signals. Figured I’d start with this inexpensive Pyle, which I remember Pyle from my car audio days. So far this pre amp works like a charm. Sounds awesome with my Klipsch bookshelf speakers and powered subwoofer Plugged it into the back of my receiver so it turns on and off with the receiver . Bought some shielded rca cables and a ground wire to go from the Pyle to the receiver. We have sound

needed this for an older turntable. easy to set up. you do have to turn it on/ off to use it and to conserve power. for the price it was worth it.

Good solid compact design and delivers

So I want to acknowledge this preamp has a lot of good reviews, and I bought it due to good reviews by trusted sources on YouTube. This is actually my second Pyle, I returned the first one for also being nothing but static and now the same for the replacement. Using a nearly new Fluance turntable. I have a Sony receiver from 1993 which includes preamp, and the sound is perfect when using it for the just preamp and no other functions. So that confirms the Pyle is the problem here. The possibilities are: 1. Pyle has poor quality control and I received 2 different defective preamps. They are dirt cheap, so I'm not going to blame them too much, but I'm doubtful I got two bad ones in a row? Maybe. 2. ChatGPT suggests that lack of adjustable gains is cauing the preamp to over amplify. In the sense that the Fluance has a properly good cartridge and isn't cheap junk, perhaps it's not so compatible with a preamp meant to pair with a very low end turn table? 3. The Payle is supposed to rated for an MM turntable, but maybe it really isn't. Anyway, I'm done trying Pyle and will stick with the Sony until I can get something vintage on eBay.

Nice cheap, easy solution for weak phonograph signal to amplifier, boosts sound up without noticable noise increase.

For the price this is a great preamp. If you getting into vinyl and need a preamp for your turntable to receiver i highly recommend this pyle preamp.

It is ok. It serves a purpose for a cheap budget. I have it on an 80's model MCS with no built in amp. I have it going from there to a pair of Klipsch 5's. Speakers have built in phono amp but wanted to try something external for better sound. it does amplify the signal, but no where close to the same level of all other inputs on 2 different types of speakers. Compared to USB,HDMI,and even Bluetooth, the volume is about 60-70% of all those. I honestly think the speakers built in amp does better. I also get a sub hum with this no matter how i ground it or how i plug all equipment in-same outlet, different outlet, same ground's, different grounds, power strip, 2 different subs, 2 different sets of speakers. Cannot figure out why, but i take this out of the equation and run on speakers built in amps, no sub hum, and the hum is loud. All in all, it is ok and serves a purpose for now. I will be upgrading to better in teh very near future to something that lets me know how many DB of amp i am getting and something that is adjustable. Though none of those options are 20$.

A cheap solution for a Pioneer THX receiver that doesn't have a phono input, on a rack with little room for a phono preamp. This provides reasonable output (3 or 4 decibels more would have been nice, but not critical), and sounds clean and with no hum after using the ground provided. The turntable is a Linn Sondek LP12 with a Linn Itok arm and Shure Ultra cartridge; the loudspeakers are Paradigm Eclipses with a Paradigm powered 12" subwoofer. I was trying this as a provisional solution, but initial listening has been satisfactory, so I am in no rush to buy something more "audiophile." I have an ERA turntable with an SME 3009 arm and ADC QLM cartridge plugged into Nakamichi electronics with a good phono stage, playing through Paradigm Mini Monitors and a Paradigm 10" powered subwoofer in the bedroom, and this little preamp doesn't suffer in comparison.

Ik heb het besteld omdat ik heb positieve recensies gelezen. Zeer slechte kwaliteit en zorgt voor zoemend geluid. na 1 minuut luisteren heb ik het uitgezet en teruggestuurd.

Works perfectly with Fischer turntable. I am going to love working through my old LPs. I was worried by other buyers complaints but it is truly excellent and at a very good price. connected the grounding wire on the turntable to the device and experienced no rumbles. highly recommend it.
