Essential Swiss Peeler Set, Multicolor

I have loved my Swiss Peelers since being introduced to them at a Flea Market 20 years ago. I ordered so many for my family, friends and myself, the person I ordered them from said I was his best customer ever...did I want to buy him out and take over his business when he gave it up! They lasted for years and years but finally-probably due to my not drying them properly, they developed a little rust and I discarded them. I ordered new ones I thought would be of the same quality but it broke the first time I used it! (I gave the other one to a friend after bragging on my original peelers...I assume hers broke as well...I warned her it probably would.) I researched new peelers and saw the Kuhn Rikon peeler was the highest recommended. I ordered the set and have been so excited and pleased with them. They are sturdy and sharp...they do the job!

I have another more expensive stainless steel Kuhn Rikon peeler, which is excellent. So I thought I would try it this set. I should not have bothered. I had the same issue that has been reported in other reviews. It started rusting pretty quickly. I would not recommend this set of peelers.

These things are flimsier than I expect in a hard-working kitchen too, But they get the job done pretty well. Very sharp, which is the biggest thing. Hope they last.

I really like these for the sharpness and maneuverability of them. They aren't huge, fit in my hand perfectly. Neither bulky or flimsy and I haven't had any problems with the grip when using. I knew ahead of time that I would have to keep them washed and dried completely before putting away. No signs of rust and I must say it's only been a few months that I've used. I'm thinking that I could use food grade mineral oil to lightly coat after use if I do start seeing any rust/deterioration. I like these two so for me cost was worth them

Stays beautifully sharp and gives a really nice thin shave to your vegetables. Don’t put it in the dishwasher as it will rust!

Yes they will rust. Its carbon steel and it says it right on the package so don't throw it out just wipe down with a little oil. Super sharp, better than my stainless steel peeler. I would recommend.

Comfortable to hold in hand, east to use manipulate different sized vegetables and fruits . Didn’t slip .

My first impressions were amazing. Like the best peeler I’ve ever used. Yes it’s a tad light but it works so well. But once in the dishwasher, rusted. Gone.
