We live in So Cal and one side of my house just bakes in the summer heat/sun. I turned this side of the house into a patio garden a few years ago. Did pretty good with that except on the days where heat was in the 90's to 100''s. The house would get even more hot and my plants suffered. I bought two of these with the intention of putting both up on this side of the house. When these came in, they were very sturdy. Took two of us to hang them due to the weight. I was concerned that maybe these would block out too much sun for my plants. I am SO glad I bought them! My garden has done better than ever. I have a fall garden going now- and I am going to leave these up still. The house on this side is noticeably cooler too. Because one covered so much of the side patio, I ended up using the second one on the backside of the house on a patio we have there. This also really cooled down the back of the house. We are spending more time out in the back too. If we ever move, these are going with. :)
