It works very well. Takes a little more to light it than I thought it would. Once it's going it works as one would expect. Now the question is, maybe to well. What? For my taste it a little over board. I am going to try adjusting it to work for 1/2 the time of the whole cooking time. Without it I think the results I get is not enough, with it full time, a little over the top. One can see where I am going here. I wish now that I had bought the smaller one. I WILL probably to that after I figure out what is going to work for me. I will say this, this little hummer works in my gas BBQ as well as my smoker. This design stays where you put it in the BBQ OR SMOKER, my thought would be the round one could be a problem in making it stay where you wanted it. I didn't realize the feature until I used it. Wow, does this thing ever put out a dense smoke.....very nice! I used a combo of pellets and sawdust with no problem on its first test run making cold smoked Ribeye steak, New York steak, brisket, pork chop, and sockeye salmon.....yeah, that was a lot for the first time. Took 16 hrs total smoke time with 2 charges (initial charge + (1) recharge) using apple-wood pellets and alder sawdust. My 22" Weber was so oily from the smoke I worried it would ignite if I lit it.....LOL. I have lots to learn about smoking it seems, but the results were awesome and tasted fabulous as we cooked the cold smoked meats as our first week's menu. Turned out so good will be doing lots (10 lbs) of CoHo salmon this week given the abundance of the fish in our market. I think I found myself a very useful, new toy!

I tried this with some pork shoulders on my Traeger Lil Tex. The instructions stated that it should smoke for 2-3 hours. I used 100% Cherry pellets which the instructions said that Cherry and Oak may need to be mixed with other wood in order to stay lit. I stayed lit without any issue. It smoked for less than 2 hours. I think the smoke time was short due to the airflow of the pellet grill instead of a traditional BBQ. It added great smoke flavor without making the pork too smokey.I loved this smoker tube so much that I gave it to my brother in law and ordered another one for myself.

We are a gas grill manufacturer and highly recommend a smoke tube for using when you want to grill on very low heat and get the very same flavor as a pellet grill. We here at Party King Grills have enjoyed using the smoke tubes on our grills. We take several grills to the football games and have a ball. One grill is doing burgers and steaks, another is smoking chicken and trurkey with the smoke tube and another grill has a griddle top by little griddle and does breakfast and stir fry. We know grills and we like the smoke tubes.

This tube is awesome. Fast shipping. Metal is well made. No sharp edges. The open end makes it easier to light. I used a wind proof lighter, got the pellets burning for a few minutes, and laid it on is side in bottom of smoker. With no added heat from smoker, it smoked for just under 4 hours. My small smoker stayed around 100-110 degrees for cold smoking bacon. Tube worked perfectly. Will try cold smoking salmon when it's not 80 degrees outside. Will also use this in my regular grill the next time we grill for added flavor.

Found the product description to be adequate but utility was challenging. The diameter of this unit proves difficult to load by hand without dropping pellets on the deck. It takes a direct flame to get the pellets smoking, so plan on having a torch to initiate the smoking process. Afterwards, keep yor grill hear setting at 350 degrees F or better to sis Rd aon smoking action. I plan on abandining this Smoker (and others like it) in favor of a direct flame contact unit. This is a light weight stainless steel that will not survive direct bbq heat in excess of 400 degees F.

I was quick to give a two star rating because of an issue with the settings on my amazon account. I used the smoker over the Independence Day holiday and it works great. You want smoke, your whole neighborhood gets it. I apologize to Henry for any inconevience I might have caused. He was "Johnny on the spot" to make things right.

Just ordered a second one to give as a gift! This thing is great! Easy to use, I made a paper funnel to fill with pellets. Easy starting using a heat gun! Once lit I let them burn close to 10 mins then blew out and smoke, smoke and smoke. Put on the bottom of my electric smoker and this tube gave out 5.5 hours of pure sweet smelling smoke! Took out hardly any ash, refilled lit it back up and got another 5.5 hours. Brisket turned out wonderful!
