1/2" Copper Pipe Bathtub Spout Back Sealing, Bathroom Finished Wall Protection from Water Leakage, Bath Wall Leaking Prevention Disc Seal (1-Pack)

I am not a plumber, just a DIYer. But when I went to replace my tub spout, I didn't like the fact the pipe coming out of the shower wasn't sealed. Sure it is probably OK, but just in case, why not seal it so it's impossible for water to get in?This item was perfect for the extra piece of mind. It seals very well around the pipe, and I sealed the back with caulk. It might be overkill but for the price it is a no-brainer IMO.Felt like a high quality product and I can't fault it in any way.

I was replacing my spout but I had a hard time stopping the water from shooting back onto the bathroom wall. I was afraid all that water was going inside the wall. Rather than using just the silicone caulking to stop the water, I put this plastic stopper and then applied silicone caulking around it. I waited about 5 hours to let the caulking dry and then I tried turning on the water and the water is not going inside the wall anymore.

I needed something to cover the back hole of wall where water could get in after changing my tub spout. This did the job. Easy and simple. It's a no brainer. Put on and caulk around it, that's it. Make sure the measurement are accurate before ordering. That's all.

I replaced the tub spout to update the look of our bathroom, but the new spout leaked, and some of that water was going to get behind the wall... a huge problem. Our plumber wanted to cut out the wall and replace the copper pipe. I bought these, used a marine grade silicone to attach it to the wall. Now the wall is sealed, the copper pipe doesn't wiggle at where it comes through the shower wall, and the location where the o ring on the spout seals is 1/4" farther out giving it a new surface to seal on. Best of all, no sheet rock hole, no plumber bill.

We had been having problems with water training behind the spout down the walls causing problems for the ceiling in the bathroom below I knew what I was looking for Just didn't have an idea that Amazon would be the place that I will find it We went to home Depot , Lowe's NOTHING then I went to Old faithful Amazon was so happy to get this item My husband immediately placed it in the correct space and it works so well

Thoughtfully designed and installs easily; giving me peace of mind that no water will leak behind the tub. I suspect that had been happening, as I own an older home and sealing the opening behind the spout wasn’t considered when it was installed. After the plastic spout connector to the copper water pipe cracked, water began slowly leaking into the space behind the tub, causing moisture issues in the next room. I do wish this product was a bit cheaper, and if I ever need to seal the opening in my other tub, I may consider a cheaper, DIY solution. But, for most, this is an easily-installed complete kit that provides insurance against future leaks/mold issues.Update: I had written a slightly more critical review (mainly that this product seemed rather expensive) which prompted the seller to offer a full refund; they did not ask me to remove or modify my review, but it made me give my review some more thought. I didn’t accept their offer but updated my review to add additional info. I still think it can be cheaper, but it is a well-designed product that performs a function most people may not have considered a potential problem in their bathroom.

I paid a little more than I thought I should. However, when I installed it and saw how well the fit was I was glad I had it handy when I replaced my tub spout. Seals well and should work for life of the shower.

This didn't end up helping me in any way so I did return it but if it does help it what looked like it was in good condition and quality. It just didn't actually help my situation.
