Game-Changer for Outdoor Living – A Must-Have Mosquito Solution!
As someone who spends a lot of time outdoors—whether it’s grilling on the back patio, camping with my family, or just relaxing with a good book—I’ve tried just about every mosquito solution on the market. Sprays, candles, zappers... you name it. Nothing has come close to the Thermacell 15 FT Mosquito Repellent. Instant Relief, No Mess Within minutes of activating the unit, I noticed a dramatic drop in mosquito activity. The 15-foot zone of protection is no exaggeration—it truly creates a bubble of comfort. No strong smells, no sticky residue, and best of all, no more itching. Sleek, Silent, and Portable The design is minimal and unobtrusive, making it easy to incorporate into any outdoor setup without it being an eyesore. It's also completely silent, which makes it perfect for evenings on the porch or quiet camping nights. I appreciate how compact and travel-friendly it is—great for tossing in a backpack or picnic basket. Effective and Hassle-Free It uses a fuel cartridge and repellent mats, which are easy to install and replace. I especially appreciate not having to constantly reapply sticky sprays or wear uncomfortable citronella bracelets. This device lets me enjoy the outdoors the way it was meant to be. Pro Tip: I keep one near our outdoor dining area and another by our kids' play space. It’s made our summer evenings so much more enjoyable. As someone who values quality, effectiveness, and smart design, I couldn’t recommend the Thermacell enough. It delivers exactly what it promises—and then some. I find myself reaching for it regularly, and it’s earned a permanent spot in our outdoor gear.

They work great.....but!!!
I have several of these units and can't say enough about how well they keep mosquitoes and gnats away. I do use 2 units for my 20 x 12 foot deck. Manufacturers always tend to over exaggerate the effective range on products like this. I use the half rule. If it says 15ft range I assume its going to be 7 maybe 9 feet which is why I use two units at the same time. If the bugs are really bad I sometimes add a 3rd unit but they do keep the bugs away. It's important to realize that you should turn these on and place them outside at least 15 minutes before you enter the area. This is actually what the Manufacturer suggests anyway. They do take time to heat up and for the vapor to start coming out of the units and to spread around the sitting area. As for the blue pads, I hear some complaints they turn white in less than 4 hours. Turning white doesnt mean its not working. The oil is still being emitted even when it turns completely white. In fact just having them in the sun and humidity will make them turn white but it still takes about 4 hours to exhaust the pad. One other thing to note is once you open the package the clock starts ticking. If you used it on day one for 2 hours and then don't use it for a couple days they will have dried out and no longer work and a new pad needs to be inserted. With that said its not the greatest if you just plan to sit out for an hour but they are still the best solution I have found. I ordered the rechargeable unit that uses a liquid cartridge instead of the pads to see if these are better for shorter usage times. I'll update this review once I try it. Update on Rechargeable version with the liquid cartridges... This is the way to go! Theybwork just as good as the butane models with the pads. They actually heat up faster too. When I'm done with them I turn them off and they are good to go even days later since the liquid doesn't evaporate from the wick. No pads pads or butane cartritges to deal with. When repellent cartridge is empty just drop a new one in. Couldnt be simpler. Note! The cartridge that comes with the unit is only partially filled, just like when you buy a new printer. The replacements are completely filled.

Works decently
Id give this a 3.5 stars. 15 foot zone, no. I have the Thermacell sitting on a table in a 10x12 gazebo. With the claims that should easily keep away the mosquitos. I let it warm up and you can see the smoke coming out the top. I have seen several mosquitos fly by, even thru the smoke. Why I rated it so high is because the mosquitos seem to keep going. I do not have any new bites while I have been using the Thermacell, for about the last several days; we've had an uptick of mosquitos. I am normally within a couple feet from it but I dont doubt if I was farther from it I would be bitten. We don't get a lot of mosquitos so if your at a place that has a lot you may get less bites, if thats any consultation. Over everything else I've tried, other than spraying myself down the deet, the Thermocell has been the most effective. I will continue to use this. I enjoy my cool mornings and evenings, where im normally chased inside because of the mosquitos.

Repels mosquitos well!
Used this for camping last weekend, I was impressed how well it worked . It was easy to set up! It did seem to take about an hour to reach its effectiveness , but we started off the evening with a few bites and ended with mosquitos no where around our area !

I LOVE this product! Very simply because it works.... when it works.
It definitely gets expensive using it through an entire Texas mosquito season, which I do not love so much. Especially if you forget to turn the butane off when you go inside nearly every time like I do! I'll be honest, the reason my repeller failed halfway into my 2nd mosquito season is thanks to my desire to save money. I learned to refill the butane cartridges myself, which is a sizeable savings considering our season is about 49 weeks long every year, and again, I needed a new cartridge every evening because I forget to turn it off. But, beware trying this! Many things can go wrong doing the refill process. Its not as simple as it looks on the how to videos. And it can (and did in my case) ruin the repeller. I had a cartridge unscrew to replace with a full one, but the valve is now one with the device. I just ordered a new one because I am a mosquitoes favorite snack and after having one of these miracle devices.... Well, I never plan to NOT have one again! These are truly genius! I tell everyone about them and even bring mine with me when visiting friends' patios or attending kids' soccer games. Just know there is ongoing expense with the pads only lasting 4 hours and cartridges lasting 12 hours. That's a LOT of refills over 49 weeks!

Bought several.18mo use. Don't work w butane. No help thru Amazon. At a loss
This is supposed to be butane operated. Since 2023, Only used 4 months a yr, bought replacement butanes, pads & it WON'T turn on. Why say it's powered by butane if it's not? Tried to submit issue through purchased items, only allows a troubleshoot. Even when that doesn't help it just forces you through another. I've bought several of these for traveling to other states that I've sent to friends house. Why spend the money?! I'm highly disappointed! It also went out before the butane was at low 1/4 & wouldn't start. Pricey for something that doesn't work. Maybe the rechargeable is better. Not sure. But until I can get a hold of a human to discuss this bs. Not buying another

Worked so well I thought my blood chemistry had changed.
I didn't get this item for free, so you can trust that my review is solid. Mosquitos are pretty picky about who they prey upon. They prefer a particular scent and blood chemistry which is why I can understand why the reviews range from "didn't work" to "changed my life." Let's face it - when you're in an area where mosquitos are so thick that you can hear them buzzing and watch them landing on your skin, you should just go inside. Not much is going to save you. However, if you're like me and your skin lights up with a neon sign for the mosquitos (and you are the ONLY one they're biting in a group), you're happy to try just about anything that will keep them away from you. My husband bought this Thermacell Repeller so I would stop complaining. I still haven't stopped complaining (sorry, honey), but I have stopped flapping my gums about mosquitos. We put this Repeller out on our porch during the beginning of summer, before the mosquitos were really out and about. About mid-summer I started telling my health care provider (and all of my friends) that I must be going through menopause early or having some major blood chemistry change, because mosquitos were no longer seeking me out of a group. As long as we were outside around our home, I just wasn't getting a bite. It was miraculous and beautiful. Then we went to a friend's house. Ouch. They were all over me again. It took me a while to realize (yeah, I'm a little slow) that the reason I wasn't getting bit at home was because my husband had lit the Thermacell each time we were outside. I honestly didn't even realize it was on and running. It doesn't make noise, doesn't product a smell, and doesn't really take up any room at all. Pretty dang amazing. We went through 3 scent pads this summer and one fill of butane and it keeps on going. It's easy to throw in a bag and take anywhere with us. Most everyone who visited this summer has purchased one. I advise you do the same if you're a mosquito magnet like me. It really is a game changer.
