Content is good; Needs fixing
Content is cohesive and expansive, covers what I need to know for the exam, but quite a few noticeable typos, incorrect review question answers here and there, could use some brushing up on the quality checking

Contains the material but not well written
The book contains the material you need, but it is not well written. Still using it to get prepared for the exam, however, better editing would greatly improve the book.

i think it's just missing entire sections? and sometimes just wrong?
i already think most Packt Publishing books are written in a real dry kind of school reference book kind of way, most of them are really not fun to read straight through, this one included. However, I feel like this book is just straight missing entire sections, where the book says something will be shown, and then it just says we did it.The example i have now (i'd have to go back through and look for others) is in the Lambda chapter, pg 336 section where figure 12.7 is, the "adding a lambda layer to our function" section is literally a paragraph that says "let's expand functionality of our function by adding a layer that works not only for this particular function, but could also be used across numerous functions in our code base and organization." THE IMMEDIATE next paragraph and sentence says "We have gone through the process of adding a layer to our lambda function." No we didn't.Unfortunately this happens multiple times throughout the book where features are discussed, a paragraph mentions something will be shown, and then the next paragraph just says ok we're done, next thing. There's a couple places where for sure, you have to spend some time looking at and annotation for yourself the github repo for the book to know why some labs are relevant towards the chapter in question (i.e. the book does not explain in details some of the contents you are deploying, the CodePipeline chapter iirc didn't go into detail the CFTs involved), but when entire sections just don't happen, that's just really awful.I'm also fairly certain some of these review questions have wrong answers. There's a question about state machines at the end of the lambda chapter where AWS Step Functions were covered, but it says the AWS Cognito service would help here, which is for auth related things.I don't know if this book is enough to prep you for the devops pro test, but not a good text by any standard anyways. Using it to get a broad sense of what's available and general practice guidelines is fine but I hope the 2nd edition isn't as terrible.

It covers all the aspects of the exam
To clear AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional certification, you must know AWS CI/CD tools like CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, and infrastructure automation tools like CloudFormation book covers these tools in-depth. It not only covers these concepts from GUI but also using aws cli. To reinforce these concepts, there are also hands-on examples. Some of the things I want to see more in this book are more Python examples(may that be outside the scope of the exam) and more review questions at the end of each section. But overall, this book is more than enough for anyone preparing and looking to clear this exam.

Full of mistakes, accompanying code is garbage
I'm currently up to page 521, and I have to say I'm desperately disappointed in the quality of this book. It is *full* of gaps where content was meant to be, but was never delivered. In addition, the demo code that accompanies this book is woefully broken and not in any way maintained, only 1 of the examples worked without any work on my behalf, Chapter_8 was completely broken and Chapter_9 was missing half the resources and required manual fixes to the steps that *were* present.Avoid like the plague.

Nice book for beginners...
This is a nice book for beginners who want to have an idea about AWS cloud tools with practice test. Obviously not for a complete reference, but to have a good start. Go for it!
