I've been using a Ryobi forstner set and it seems the bits have gotten quite dull after only a few uses. This one however, cuts through the wood like butter and leaves a very clean cut behind! Re-stocking all my forstner now with Freud and Diablo bits!

When I needed a Forstner Bit that was up to the task - this one didn't disappoint. The price differences among tools in general and bits in particular prove the adage "you get what you pay for." This bit did well - will buy again.

Works well on plastic. Have to apply light pressure and go slow. Out of the 23 holes I cut, I only got two minor cracks in the plastic. I'd say that was user error as well. Sturdy bit too, I don't see it going dull. Also, it didn't walk at all really. I was drilling on a vertical tub wall as well, so that's actually impressive.

Stays sharp and cuts a clean hole. I've only used it on plywood and MDF though.
