Easy to install.
The Manual takes some getting use too. Other than that it seems to work as promised. I had to up the horse power of the motor as I would get an error on the vfd when it reached its max. I use it on a 100 plus year old metal lathe that was originally run off a line shaft. It powers a three phase 4 hp motor. Youtube videos were helpful in learning about vfd and setting them up.

It works like a charm.
I was all but given an old Powermatic 5hp Model 66 table saw. It was in good shape, other than having sat for 5 years. It is wired for three phase 220v/460v, which is why i got it for $300. I knew about these things, though, so i jumped at the opportunity. I'd read about VFDs, but this the first time i've used one. I ordered the one specified for 5-6hp, i read the instructions twice, watched the youtube vids, and wired it up. I wasn't 100% sure of the wiring, but it was easy. Incoming 1PH 220v ground is the first connection, then the two incoming 220v hots, then the three motor wires black, red, black, L to R. In short, L to R, 1st post two x green(grounds), 2nd 220v in, 3rd 220v in(colors don't mater here), 4th black motor wire, 5th red motor wire, 6th white motor wire. I can now run the saw from the vfd, adjusting most anything. Whisper quiet! Amazing power through 3" thick Bubinga, i can feed it at any speed. This product has changed the way i see machinery. Three phase is an opportunity, now.

5hp powermatic
This vfd left a little to be desired. The programming instructions are brief. I couldn’t find out how to use my existing power switch, I kept getting an overcurrent error. I had to run straight to the motor and use the vfd as the power switch. So far it’s working but it’s still day one.

Missing user manual
I just pulled it from the box, so I can't rate performance. But it did not come with a user manual. I did a web search for the PDF manual using the model info on the product sticker and was able to print an 18 page manual from an equivalent maker of the same model.

VFD is decent for small motors. Terrible customer service.
If you’re not technically or electrically trained don’t bother. Get an American VFD for twice the price and actually get help when you need it. You shouldn’t need to wait 2-3 weeks for a vague one-sentence answer to a very specific question. This does not equal customer service. In fact, quite the opposite. I’ll be sending this back. Seller doesn’t know what they’re talking about and is offering bad advice to most questions. Low effort reseller here. Seriously save yourself the time and headache. Buy an American made VFD with “more than a 3 page pdf” manual they copied from someone else. You’re rolling the dice on this working for you. And I’ve installed troubleshot and programmed many VFDs in my career.
