THIS WORKS
I recall in the mid-70's the shop I worked at used a powdered plastic material and solvent to repair broken TV and radio cabinets. Back then the solvent may have been toluene, but now it's a kind of stinky methacrylate compound. Either way, this material kit works on most hard plastic chemistry types. Polyethylene requires a different kit, but Plastex offers this as well. So far I have only used the clear. It would be nice if they offered a range of tints to allow for color matching, but at least there is some hope for repairing plastic items in hope of restoring use. I particularly like the ability to restore broken screw mountings. Super easy to use. Fast drying.

Works as advertised
Takes a little practice, but there's plenty of how to videos on YouTube. I've been using it to go over all my motorcycle fairings. Using the mold also takes practice but you can definitely re make broken tabs. *tip* manufacturer video says to heat the mold on my a hotplate or stove- if you are not careful you can ruin the mold. Better drop it into a mug of water an microwave it. The powder/resin works like magic!! Sandable, drillable, it's like making new plastic.

Works, but it's expensive for the amount.
Plastex repair kit works, but is expensive for the amount of money. This $16+ repair kit required $10 for shipping and handling (Even wiith my Amazon membership), which made the purchase $26. There was only a little amount, so it only repaired a small portion of my refrigerator drawer. I wonder if I should have just bought a new drawer for $62. Wish I noticed that I ordered black instead of clear. At least I can open my drawer better, despite it is still missing more edge

Strongest way to repair hard plastics that I am aware of
I gave this a shot to fix freezer drawers in which the slides had cracked due to the weight of the food. I was able to get a very solid (if not pretty) repair. It's holding well after 2 weeks. This is much better than any epoxy I have ever tried or any repair using CA glue and substrate. It seams to bond to the existing plastic extraordinarily well. One thing I would note is that the solvent will (unsurprisingly) melt the existing plastic and cause it to haze. Tape any areas where the solvent may flow (such as under the molding bar) that you want to protect.

Excellent product to repair fairings. Easy to use.
I must recommend this if you have any plastics that need to be repaired. I have used this with great results to repairs a few fairings on a scooter I am working on. It works well for the type of plastic (ABS) used on this Suzuki Burgman. I recommend when you go to start using it, clip the top of the powder container nozzle small. The powder is very fine, and you can sprinkle it right in a crack if you are careful. I also use an old insulin syringe to apply the activator.

product worked good on my ATV broken plastic fender

Worked like magic but the part I needed it for repair broke off with some pressure. I'm sure it would work for repairing other things on a motorcycle.

In my opinion, Plastex is the best product on the market for repairing cracked motorcycle side covers. We were also able to re-attach a broken-off mounting tab on one cover. With practice, the product can be applied in a few different ways, all described in the included instructions as well as YT videos. The best crack repair is obtained by following their instructions; using a Dremel or sharp tool, "trench out" the crack to create maximum surface area, then fill. The resulting bond is strong and flexible. We also succesfully repaired our refrigerator's cracked vegetable drawer as well as a broken part of the fridge door. Having ordered the product in black, I found the dried colour to be a bit washed out. Since most visible repairs will likely be refinished, I have ordered my next batch in clear. The standard kit provides ample product for numerous repairs. Overall, an excellent product for plastic repair.

ive used this for years and its the best way to repair abs plastics on motorcyle and car parts or everyday items made of plastics.you can made new pieces that have broken and lots more.it may seem a little expensive to some but its a small price to pay compared to buying parts that would normally have to be replaced
