This is a book on how to write a resume to help win a job. It covers not just the traditional printed resume that might be snail mailed to an employer but also variant forms of resumes that capitalize on modern telecommunication such as the Internet, video, audiovisual presentations, and social media. It provides a resume template based on a thoughtful analysis of resume anatomy or architecture in terms of such elements as name and contact info, location, social media page, professional summary, soft skill highlights, technical skills, education and training, and technological proficiency. It encourages readers to tailor their resumes to the audience, and add the extra touch in terms of good visual presentation, writing, user friendliness, and scrupulous review before sending it out to a potential employer. Ironically for book that contains much good advice on how to create a clear and compelling narrative to sell yourself to a potential employer, it lacks a table of contents, is published in small fonts, uses formal grammar, and lacks graphics or concrete examples.

Good product

This book is really good. I am currently searching for ways to effectively update my resume. This book really has some good and effective concepts on how to write your resume and what to "not to do" and "do" when writing your resume. I also learned some valuable information on how employers check your resume and certain keywords you need to have in your resume to even be considered. I highly recommend this book to people who need more information on how to write a killer resume and what to do and what not to do, currently in 2016.

The book is very short and does not provide examples as indicated. In addition it does not provide insight into CV writing. The digital copy was full of solicitations for the authors additional works. This was not just at the end of the book but littered throughout - very unprofessional considering the book is selling professionalism.
