Kness Ketch-All Drowning Attachment

We suddenly experienced an influx of deer mice for the first time in 15 years. We are hiring an exclusion expert to completely seal the house, which means mice will be desperately searching for a food source since they can no longer come and go as they please. I opted for the drowning attachment so I could contain the mice and their prolific droppings. The trick with the Ketch-All is to only wind it 4-5 times. If you wind it more, the very light weight of the mice cannot overcome the tension of the wound spring. I modified the attachment to use Wide Mouth Mason jar rings so I could deploy the traps with 64oz and 120oz jars. I did not use water as the drowning method is a horrific way to die. Using jars allows me to dispatch the mice using the Co2 method, conforming to the AVMA guidelines, which causes far less trauma and pain to these native wild mice. After releasing more than 20, I am not willing to release semi-domesticated wild mice to become a problem for my neighbor’s homes or farms. Quick tip on the drowning attachment- it works well with both the solid and flexible clear lids. Be sure you lock it into place so the mice are unable to escape. I’ve found baiting the holding cell of the trap not only attracts the mice but also allows them to have food between checks so they don’t suffer dehydration or starvation. They might be destined to culling but I’m not willing to impart suffering on any native wildlife in the interim. If you have a larger property I recommend buying the bulk pack of 12 Kness Ketch-All Traps, as it decreases the price to just over half the cost of buying a single trap. We tried countless methods but the loss of sleep checking and resetting single catch traps every night is detrimental to both our physical and mental health. The Ketch-All can catch well over 10 rodents with each reset. Just be sure not to wind more than 5 times if you have deer mice (native to North America with adorable round ears, white bellies, and come in a range of colors from gray to brown to reddish.)

The drowning kit does absolutely nothing and it’s quite disappointing.

This does not come with a jar and because of the lid that is on it, I have been unable to locate a jar that will work with it that is larger than 32 oz. The trap that it goes to is great but I am not sure this part is worth what you pay for it.

Only one mouse to the jar in over a year, still many die in the trap tho.

We used to have this trap when I was a kid about 37 years ago. It worked great then and the new one works great now. We have purchased about 5 different types of trapps but after 4 weeks nothing they were a waist of money. I ordered this trap without any bait wound it up, put it in a corner. After 3 days bam, bam. It had caught 2 mice and we haven't seen anymore yet. I DON'T KNOW WHY MICE LIKE IT BUT THEY DO SO IF YOU NEED TO MOVE OUT YOUR PESTS. I SUGGEST BUYING A KETCH ALL THE NAME SAYS IT ALL.!!!!!!

I have mice everywhere at my property. This particular trap has yet to catch one mouse after being used for about 6 weeks now. I even baited the inside trap box with a few pieces of dog food which the mice LOVE at my house. I can't even leave my dog dish out at night or the mice will have it cleaned out. So all the food is protected and the only dog food they can get to now is in this trap - but no mice. My snap traps are working fine though.........not sure if I'm doing something wrong or what - but the trap seems pretty straight forward, so my opinion of it thus far is that it was a waste of money.

I had the attachment hooked up to there box fur over 3 weeks. No Bobbers yet. Ill keep praying it works

I’m in Minnesota, and get a lot of mice in my garage in the winter. I set this up on 12/26, and have already caught 9 mice. I had an old bottle of “99 Bananas” (99 proof alcohol that smells like bananas) that I used in the mason jar since water would freeze. It works incredibly well. I think the mice are attracted to the smell, just a theory but I caught 9 mice in 12 days. Very happy with this product!
