I purchased this so my cats would have access to their food and litter boxes but at the same time keep the dogs from being able to get to the cat food. This door was just the right size, was extremely easy to install in our basement door and has worked perfectly. My large 15lbs cat had no trouble fitting through the door, figuring out how it works immediately. My dogs are all 30-50lbs so they can not fit through it to gobble cat food. The locking mechanism has been a huge help to keep the cats safely closed up and not have to worry about any escaping during home renovations with workers in and out of the house. The swinging door can be a bit loud at times at times but usually that's only when the cats each sit on either side of the door and make a game out of batting / smacking it back and forth with their paws. Overall the door has held up very well in the 5 plus years it's been installed. At times the locking mechanisms can be a bit hard to slide and lock down but I don't use them often. The clear plastic door has some scratching and is not quite as clear anymore which is to be expected but I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another in the future if needed. It was a great price and solved my problem of the dogs getting into the cat food.

I ordered the large size and I must say it is really good in built quality and the stencil provided makes it easy. The cat door has a magnet which removes the unnecessary flopping back and forth, but your cat needs to get used to that. It looks great as you can see in the pictures My cat loves it. I have provided a video of what has been included in the box.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I was on the search for a pet door for a cat that visits us daily and has now taken up home in our garage. With little effort and training, the cat easily caught on on how to use the door so that we could quit leaving the garage door open to keep the garage temperature controlled for the cat. Video attached we did the tape method (introduced the door open and after a few days let the door down) to help the cat learn and in under a week she would go in and out without fear. Pros: price is very affordable, installation was easy for my husband, nothing too fancy to control it’s straight to the point. Con: The weather strip has quickly started loosing adhesive and coming off of the kitty door causing a slight extra push for the cat. Would love to know a quick fix on this or where to buy replacement adhesive. If you’re looking to keep other cats/accessible animals out with more automation or a chip this isn’t the one. It does its job with great price point - we did have another neighborhood cat find the doorway within the first week and if anything it was an entertaining surprise to find another cat in the garage. To help us make sure no cat fights break out we installed cameras to watch the feeding area and cat door. The cat is livening its best cat life now with free roaming accessibility. The cats so happy to be able to graze into its home away from home anytime she wants to. Overall I’d rate the door a 4.5 stars. It’s really made our co-parented neighborhood cat feel at home.

One of my cats has a problem figuring this door out because it's hard plastic and not rubbery. He tries to open it by pawing at the top of the door, which doesn't work. Otherwise, works great.

I waffled for a long time about which cat door to get to connect our sunroom to the main part of the house, so that the cats could get back-and-forth to their litter box. It’s a solid wood door, so it’s pretty thick. This was definitely the right choice. It’s large enough and thick enough to handle a real wood exterior door. That being said, the locking mechanism, while pretty brilliant, is easily defeated by even our not very bright orange tabby cat. If they can get a claw into the little switches, they can pull them one way or another until they are able to get through. We have to separate them for eating in the evening, and have had to resort to putting a giant picture book in front of the door with a heavy stone pillar column backing it up. But hey the other 23 hours of the day it works great :-)

Good price. I put these on coolers to make my outside cats winter insulated houses. The only problem is was the cooler walls dont line up with the notches provided to break off. I had to hand score with a sharp retractable knife then bend to break it to fit my wall thickness. From then on it was a normal installation. Shipping was fast. Item is good keeping weather out. Looks good on the coolers.

*UPDATE AGAIN* Cats went to doing bathroom duties in the garage so my wife checked there to discover it wouldn’t open. I investigated and discovered the weather seal had come loose so I guess I’m going to have to glue it back up where it belongs as it had wedged their door so it wouldn’t move in or out. They love that door so I have to get it fixed. *UPDATE* I determined the door doesn’t have enough weight to bring it back closed and we had some powerful thin magnets so I put one on each side so as not to interfere with our cats coming in or getting out. They love their door and freedom. It works good in calm weather but when it’s cold outside and the wind is blowing the door will not stay closed and very soon the garage is getting cold. I think I’m going to have to build a wind break outside the walk door which kind of defeats the purpose of a cat door. It needs a spring to make it return back to center. The magnet just isn’t strong enough to hold it.

Haven't installed this yet. This was a gift to the cats, and our sanity. We plan on placing a board into the window above this, as we have done in the past at other houses. We have a cat that drives us nuts going in and out of the house, trying to see if the rain has stopped. It’s Seattle Dood!!! Anyways, it has a locking mechanism if you want your pet to stay inside, or out if you are waxing floors or something. Very useful, and makes Steve 🐅 happy.

Super produit, bien conçu et pratique à installer. Le cadre est robuste, la porte se ferme en douceur et ne claque pas grâce au petit joint aimanté. Mon chat s’y est habitué en deux jours à peine, et le système de verrouillage 4 positions est vraiment top (je peux bloquer les allers ou retours selon l’heure). Je l’ai installée sur une porte PVC sans problème, le gabarit fourni aide beaucoup. Rapport qualité-prix imbattable, surtout pour ce format large qui convient même à un chat costaud. Fitted easily. Problem with our small dog resetting the locks, jammed them in in/out sting. Magnet fell out of frame so glue in. Good unit despite a few addressable issues.

Ah yes I did like this product and seller. I ordered my cat door and it was installed 24 hours later. It was so easy to install. It took me all of 20 minutes to install if that. The door its self has a magnet at the bottom so it returns to the closed position quickly without flapping and it's not difficult for my cat push through. It has a 3 way locking system. 1- Fully locked both ways. 2- open to go out but locked to get in. 3- open in get in locked to get out. The open to get in but locked to get out position is perfect for cat owners. It's ideal for cat curfews. I set it on that position just before curfew time. Once my cat is in he can't get out and roam at night. Postage super fast as usual with Amazons 1 day delivery. I highly recommend this product for both cats and dogs and the seller.
