Strength Training for Fat Loss Review: Simple yet creative - I've been following Nick's Facebook page for a little while, but I've never met him real life. I work as a trainer and a massage therapist in Clackamas, a suburb of Portland, Oregon. When I saw that Nick came out with this book, I decided to purchase the Kindle edition to see what I would learn. I like his no nonsense approach when it comes to the claims and propaganda that are pushed in the fitness industry, so I thought the book would be worth the purchase. Plus the gym where I work is CPC Fitness and Fat Loss where our main goal is strength training and HIIT, so I felt the purchase was pretty appropriate. And it most definitely was. I don't think I learned anything too crazy, but that's because I've been at this for a while, but he is straightforward and logical with his approach and I appreciate that in this book. He provides tons of exercise examples and templates for not only the workouts, but the warm ups and cool downs. I felt like this book opened a can of creativity worms for me a little and I just sat down and wrote 4 warm-ups using 8 different exercise for each warm up using both the exercises Nick provides in this book combined with other warm up movements that I use, with the option to write at least 3 more just by varying the exercises and maybe adding in a few more. And that doesn't even go into how many potential exercise templates I could create with the approximately 20 he provides, along with variations of those with the addition of other exercises I know and use. This is sort of a gold mine in that sense. I appreciate the work that was put into this and the renewed spark for adding that layer of creativity to my programs. Thank you, coach. Review: Anyone wanting to lose fat while building strength should buy this book!!!! - I have been following Nick Tumminello on Facebook for a couple of years now and even had the privilege of hearing him speak at a recent fitness conference. He is one of the most well-respected and innovative coaches in the fitness industry. I have learned so much from him during this time and was extremely excited when I found out his book Strength Training for Fat Loss was coming out. This book is phenomenal!!! He takes scientific-based programming and translates it into straightforward advice and practical exercise programs designed for people at all levels of fitness from beginner to advanced. The exercises are explained in EXCELLENT detail along with pictures so that anyone who is unfamiliar with any of the exercises can learn to perform them quickly and easily. The circuits, complexes, and combinations he puts together in this book will help anyone who wants to lose fat, build muscle, improve strength, and feel awesome. I am looking forward to utilizing these workouts in a lot of my own training, as well in the programming for my clients that I train at my gym. Finally, Nick does an excellent job of providing simple and straightforward nutrition advice and strategies important in any fat loss program. No gimmicks, no silly miracle hypes, no detoxes or cleanses... just proven scienced-based nutritional information. Thanks Nick for putting out a QUALITY fitness book that is sure to help so many people reach their health and fitness goals. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book!!!!

Great info for a beginner or someone who just wants programs
Given Nick Tuminello's extensive online presence and history of referencing science, I had hoped for a little more "rationale" meat in this book, but it's entirely geared toward getting someone going on a program. So if you're looking for a set of programs that you can follow to do "strength training for fat loss" this book is for you. If you're looking for "deep thoughts on strength training for fat loss," it is not. Great book, just not what I was looking for.

Great read
I've been following Nick Tumminello for years now. As a personal trainer, I really do believe he is the 'trainer of trainers'. I have always learnt so much from his products, but this book was exceptional. I think this book is absolutely fantastic. It can be used for any level of knowledge, from absolute beginner, to and advanced trainer. I love that this book is easy to read, to the point, direct and honest. Having followed and watched Nick and having heard him in interviews for so long, my favourite part about this book is that I can actually hear him as if he were talking to me, it's not just words on a page. There's actually personality in how and what he writes. Love it. The exercises and programs are great and can be used for close to anyone. The pictures are easy to follow and understand, with great explanations to everything. All round, I feel Nick has done a great job in providing us with as much knowledge as possible. Would highly recommend this book for not only trainers, but anyone interested in health and fitness. Good work Nick. You should be really proud.

I've gotten on really well with this book, but you do need to take the time to read it to fully understand the training concepts before you dive in. It is written in plain language and I found it easy to follow and understand but this is perhaps not the ideal book if you just want to start the workouts immediately. Having said that, this book has revolutionised my workouts in the gym. I am much more organised, driven and the workouts are so much more intense. I love the variety of the workouts, and I have learned to use a lot more of the equipment in the gym with confidence - I actually quite enjoy working out now! Perhaps most importantly, I have shed more weight, and toned up more in the past couple of months that I had achieved in the past year - this book has really made a big difference for me!

book is detailed enough for a relatively experienced lifter. i appreciate the variety of routines and options to choose from for the three C's. This book definitely helps if you are trying to implement a new or more challenging routine.
