Wilton Silver Pearl Dust, 0.5 oz.

My baking is limited to just a handful of occasions during the year, at most. As such, my knowledge of baking equipment and supplies is extremely limited. I came across this pearl dust when it was mentioned in a cookie recipe for cookies shaped like Christmas light bulbs. I purchased it, without knowing quite how to use it. I baked and frosted my Christmas light bulb-shaped cookies, and finally brushed this pearl dust (using a wet brush) on the white frosting at the bottom of the cookie. What a difference it made to my cookies! They now looked like Christmas bulbs! I was so happy that I purchased this. I have since found out that this dust comes in all sorts of colors, including gold! This just opened up a whole new world for my sporadic, and limited, cookie-making!

I purchased the pearl dust to make sparkling cocktails reminiscent of Viniq, that you can buy at the liquor store. It works wonderfully! I took the advice of another reviewer and added it prior to pouring the alcohol so it didn't float on top. I used it when making cosmopolitans over the holidays, and it added some extra sparkle to the drinks to make them more festive. I would recommend using it more with a darker colored liquid (such as wine, cranberry juice, etc.) to really show the glitter, but it can make any drink prettier. A little goes a long way, so even though it's a small vial it should last me quite a while.

Works well when mixed with pure lemon extract. It is tasteless so you can safely add it to anything. It is just unfortunate for the amount you get with the cost of the product.

Doing a ninja-themed baby shower, I was trying to make an edible throwing star decoration for cupcakes. Used a small cookie cutter to make stars of flour tortilla, then a decorating tip to tune the shape I wanted. Painted with this plus a bit of lemon extract and baked until crisp. Shiny and sharp-looking shiruken--everyone was very inpressed!

This is sooo cool. I used it to make a pearly full moon on a cake, and then found myself baking as an excuse to use it. I used a dry paintbrush to apply it to fresh frosting. It worked great. I can't wait to try some of their other products now.

Love this! A little goes a long way. Lasting luster and sooo many compliments. Was able to not only dust it on fondant, but also knead it into fondant I colored and it kept a beautiful luster! Will recommend!

sets up and works great and it doesn't have any of that off smell that you might find with the regular stuff you buy from the store.

I dressed as a villain that “poisoned” people for a fundraiser. I used this to make my bottle of poison (vodka) look “potion-y” which it did. When mixed with liquid, the powder settles very quickly tho. If I sing with a liquid, I think disbursement in something with thicker viscosity would be better.

This is great pearl dust! I used it for creating my own mixed 'Viniq' like flavoured drinks, that adds the shimmer to any spirits you mix together, it worked well, and a little seems to go a long ways. Add small amounts until you get your desired look.It is a super fine ground texture, I am very happy with my purchase!

I bought this to make DIY Viniq, a purple liqueur that has edible glitter swirling in it. The liqueur itself isn't available in Quebec, so that fact that I could make it myself was cool. This dust is awesome, and I only needed a little of it to achieve the desired affect. It now has me wondering what other beverages I can use this for.

We used all 0.5 oz in a 5 gallon batch of beer. I would say you could use 1 oz for 5 gallons. This does settle in the bottle or keg so you will have to agitate it before pouring.
