I've used this as a spur off the ring. The fuse protects all three sockets and is great for fitting behind a TV cabinet where more sockets are needed.

You can never have too many sockets in a room! It always winds me up how few there are in houses considering the reliance we all now have on gadgets, whatever they are. So long as there is room either side of a single socket, and the power cables connecting from the single safely reach a few more centimeters out from the wall, the single can be transformer into a triple, using the same ring main. And the socket is a permanent socket that can be safely used, unlike the extension sockets that can be seen hanging off a wall arcing away or the flat floor standing multi socket blocks that are often overloaded. I am quite paranoid about electrical safety after having two young nephews burnt alive in their beds because of an electrical fire (not in my house though). Used with the MK K2153WHI surface mount box this makes a good solution to turning 1 socket into 3. I would recommend it.
