Rain Walker SUL Umbrella

I am so happy with my purchase of the Rain Walker Six Moon Designs umbrella! It is so lightweight and sturdy. I use it for rain and sun protection while hiking and backpacking. I find I am able to place is behind my sternum strap and it holds in place for hands free movement!

I live in the PNW. We pride ourselves for not using umbrellas here! But I’ve seen a few PCT hikers use these, and I rethought my position on umbrellas. They do come in handy when you are out in the elements on a multi day backpack. So I got one. I know six moons from ultra light backpackers. And this umbrella is incredibly light! But also sturdy. Took it on a 2 night backpack in Olympic NP over a weekend we expected rain. Tucked in my side pack pocket easily. I found it nice to not have raindrops constantly pelting the hood of my jacket.

I got this umbrella and it smells like a dead animal! I have literally washed it six times with dawn and other soaps and it still stinks. I’m hiking the pct and wanted an umbrella to take but this one might attract other animals disgusting. I will never buy anything from them again .

Expect to use soon for backpacking. Been taking to work during monsoon.

Yes it is way light but really it is mostly just tiny. Hard to get a efficient cover with it.
