Easy to use, Easy to clean
Just received this product and already in love with it!! My old slicer broke and I got this to replace it. Compared to my old slicer, this slicer require much less force to slice the foods. The handle at the end definitely helps stabilize the slicer. Option blades comes out very easily which makes the cleaning of the slicer easier as well. There are two features I really like about this slicer: the safety guard and the thickness adjuster. This slicer come with the safety guard which comes in handy when slicing smaller foods. This guard moves along the edge of the slicer which makes super easy to slice smaller pieces. I love this additional feature. With my old slicer I always ended up cutting the end piece with a knife since I was afraid to slice my finger. This safety guard definitely does it job and I am very happy that I can slice entire veggies only with the slicer. The thickness adjuster will let you adjust the thickness of the slice by just sliding the plastic piece behind the slicer closer or away from the blade. This feature is amazing!! Now I can choose the thickness of the slice depending on the recipe I make. Overall, this is very well crafted, user friendly slicer. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for basic slicer with very competitive price.

Compact yet cerate perfect slices every time!
I was looking for a new mondolin slicer that can be used daily for cooking, but it is inexpensive. I found a perfect one! The item came in such a cute box and has descriptions and instruction of the item. Also, it states that the item is made in Japan which is great because I believe in Japanese craftmanship in any kitchen gadgets! The item itself is very high quality yet simple, and blades are pretty sharp that I can tell! First, I sliced those big beef totatos for hambugers and it turned out perfect. Thickness adjustment is easy to do and very simple switching blades for different uses. It comes with the safety guard and it is very helpful when you are slicing small items (I have seen and experience THAT before..) I highly recommend the item and hope you will enjoy it too!

Good product
Very sharp. Nice thickness control lever a little light weight like all the rest. I wish the made one out of a heavy resin so it had some heft to it. Overall I'd buy it again.

A Japanese Culinary Gem
This Soonear mandolin slicer, made in Japan, is a true game-changer! The blades are razor-sharp and slice veggies and fruits like butter. You can adjust the settings to get any thickness you want, from paper-thin to thick slices. The slicer is smooth and easy to clean, and it’s small enough to fit in any kitchen.

Good in a pinch, but overall quality isn't good
I wasn't paying attention and thought this was a benriner mandolin, this is more of the grocery store variety of Japanese mandolin slicer. It doesn't cut very flat because of the gimmicky adjuster on the back instead of just a simple screw. The adjuster doest hold the cutting plane level and during use it shifts off the rails. I'm willing to bet this happens with all of them because of the design. If I was just using this at home I'd probably be really happy to be completely fair though. But I bought with the intent as a kitchen tool my staff would use. I guarantee it breaks by the end of the month. So yeah it just wasnt made for a commercial kitchen maybe I replace it with a benriner one and take it home. To reiterate, it doesn't cut items very evenly, kinda makes thems into a wedge. The adjuster jams, and pops off the rails and doesn't hold the cutting plane level during use. In my opinion the general quality is supermarket brand. Again if you're buying this for home it's probably a solid 4 stars especially if it's your first one. The biggest positive that it's really easy to change the blade that cuts things into julienne.

Do NOT buy this piece of junk
I bought this when trying to replace my beloved Benriner slicer that has seen better days. THIS does NOT come close to being and acceptable replacement. Right out of the box the blades were duller than my 5 year old Benriner. The adjustment for the depth of slices does not work and is totally awkward to use. Did I mention that ALL the blades were dull? It couldn't even slice clean slices of butter, but less harder veggies like carrots and celery. The rounded end is not helpful for stability either. It supposedly makes it easier to slice into a round bowl, but only if the bowl has EXACTLY the same arc as this junky slicer. It's useless if you want to slice onto a cutting board. The pusher does not fit the contraption at all and is a useless piece of plastic actually making the risk of cutting yourself greater than not using it at all. I don't know why the Benriners have disappeared from Amazon after being available at a reasonable price for so many years (I've ordered 3 over time and given one as a gift.) Please bring back original Benriner Japanese slicers and get rid of this POS.

Very effective
It is expensive, but works great. There are adjustments knobs to make slices thinner or thicker. Very convenient. Just be careful not to slice your fingers with any slicers. Use protective gloves.

It’s not a good one. Already loosing the sharpness. No instruction manual. No safety, cut finger 2 times while putting other things in drawer. The thickness marker is not stable. Didn’t like it at all.

Very happy with this product and it does the work it’s meant to.

The gap between the bottom of the essential guard and the top of the blade is too large, leaving too much of the vegetable unprocessed requiring the remainder of the vegetable to be completed with a knife
