Simply Organic Black Pepper Medium Grind, 2.31 Oz

I love that it's organic and I like the taste.

I wanted to buy a good quality black pepper that was not only affordable but was organic. My main motivation was to use black pepper in combination with the turmeric powder I've been using. I knew that conventional black pepper was most likely irradiated and had pesticides, hence the reason why I chose this product. So far, I absolutely love this pepper and really admire the taste and perfect consistency it has. If you need an excellent quality black pepper for a great price and taste, you will not be disappointed!

It smells nice and fresh, plus it adds "oomph" to the flavor of food. I believe this is the purpose for using black pepper. Simply Organic Pepper Tin, 4 Ounce...provides a lasting supply of this spice. Many people are aware of the uses for black pepper therefore I will not mention what they are at this time. Suffice it to say that Simply Organic Pepper Tin,, 4 Ounce...is a great product. It comes in handy when one does not have a pepper mill available.

Often referred to as the “king of spices,” black pepper comes from the dried, unripe fruit of the native Indian plant Piper nigrum. Black pepper are commonly used in cooking for it's sharp, penetrating aroma and that characteristic woody, piney flavor. It has a mild heat to it, but refined piperine (where black pepper gets its spiciness), by weight, is only about one percent as hot as the capsaicin found in chili peppers. Not much I can say about this particular black pepper other than it tastes fresh and I like that it's organic. I'm using it on scrambled eggs, and it adds just the right amount of zest.

I was running low on pepper and I can't go to my "big box" store anymore because of my disability. This is very good tasting pepper and Amazon brings it right to my door with Subscribe and Save, which is a lifesaver for me! If I'm feeling well enough to be up, I can watch for the UPS guy and ask him to set it inside the door for me in the living room floor and he doesn't seem to mind, he gladly sets it the couple of extra steps and it makes it so much easier on me. The pepper also has a very reasonable price, which was another reason I picked it. With the Subscribe & Save discount, the prices on my items are very competitive which really helps since I'm on a very tight budget. It has a very easy to open freshness seal (really appreciated that) and it's organic too! That is the icing on the cake.

After reading about how most herbs and spices are sprayed with pesticides, and how stems and twigs are ground up with the herbs, adulterating the taste and reducing the positive benefits of the herbs and spices, I decided to replace (gradually) the contents of my spice cabinet. The Simply Organic brand is one I trust, as it is USDA Certified Organic. Also, the price of their products is much cheaper on Amazon than in my local grocery store, especially when I received an additional 15% off when ordering 5 products through the Subscribe and Save program. This ground pepper supplements my freshly-ground peppercorns, especially when used in a recipe that requires a specific measurement of the pepper. This 4 oz. size is very generous, but I wish a 2 oz. size were available.

Sometimes your hand gets tired physically grinding black pepper, especially for recipes that ask for a lot of it. That's where this pepper tin comes into play. I use black pepper two ways: food that's being prepped uses pepper in this tin because it's quicker to measure out; I then grind fresh peppercorns to finish off the meal—right before serving. You might reach this point one day when you're prepping a piece of meat and a recipe calls for "3 Tbsp of ground pepper." Do you know how long it takes to manually grind three tablespoons of pepper? A, long, time. It's much easier to just measure it out with this tin. Save time by using tin pepper for prepping your food, and freshly grinding pepper as the finishing touch. This is good grounded pepper in a medium grind by a well-known brand. Recommended.
