Terrific companion for people doing qualitative research. I'm now applying this guide using large language models (LLMs) with large scale unstructured data for reflexive thematic analysis in cancer. It's possible to carry out the same steps in a new way that allows for a much bigger sample size.

A must for qualitative researchers. Braun & Clarke layout reflexive thematic analysis clearly, succinctly, and authentically. It is [well] written the way research, especially qualitative research, should be written. Highly academic, yet unpretentious, ethical, inclusive, comprehensive and above all readable! Excellent resource!

Helpful resource for my PhD
I bought Thematic Analysis: A Practical Guide for my PhD, and it’s been a really helpful resource. The authors explain the process of thematic analysis in a clear and practical way, which made it much easier to get to grips with, especially as I’m fairly new to qualitative research. The book is well-structured, breaking everything down into manageable steps without feeling overwhelming or too academic. I also visited their website, which offers extra resources and examples that help reinforce the key points from the book – definitely worth checking out if you want to dive a bit deeper. Also, of course read all of Braun and Clarkes published papers! Overall, it’s a very useful guide for anyone working with qualitative data, and I’d recommend it to those looking for a practical, no-nonsense introduction to thematic analysis.

Arrived so quickly, and is a must have if doing TA
Braun and Clarke’s 2022 edition is a must have as it goes deep into reflexive thematic analysis. However if you’re a beginner to TA, then their 2013 book has more details for the nitty gritty such as samples of documents needed for ethics approval, more detail on gathering data and just amazing guidelines for beginners. I would Recommend buying both if it’s your first time.
