Lofty illumination
Having recently moved house and gone from having a well lit loft to one with just one hanging light, I needed a quick fix solution before I can sort out something more long-term when the rewiring is carried out. This is quite a substantial bulb in both size and brightness. The one I have is the 20w E27 version and I have had to use a bayonet to E27 adapter due to light fitting in the loft. That was until I got into the loft and realised the fitting on the cord was broken. Anyway I was there, so decided to go with what I had. A brand new fitment that can be attached to one of the rafters, an adapter and this bulb.I wired it up, attached the fitment to the rafter, popped in the adapter, then the bulb. Got my daughter to turn back on the two switches in the fuse box and flipped the light switch in the loft.Although it wasn’t that high up, it did a great job of lighting up the loft for me. I moved into a bungalow, which is a bit of a project, and this loft could take 3 new bedrooms if converted and most probably, without the chimney breast in the way, two more of these bulbs would be all is needed to light the entire loft.Unfortunately, it did reinforce the fact that the loft needed some TLC, whether I decided to convert it or not. The insulation, which was is very large bags, had been placed over the top of rotting floorboards, rather than between the rafters. The bulb does look to be well out together, with 6 X 8 run of LEDs down the sides and then 16 LEDs n the bottom. The side LEDs look to be mounted on aluminium (?) struts that run top to bottom.Certainly is an impressive bulb and would be just as much at home in a garage, shed, cellar, etc.I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.

Really bright but expensive
This is a really nice and bright bulb with low power usage, so it's a great choice to keep on for many hours in the day. With 50,000 hours of life, it should last a very long time!I have no issues with the bulb itself, but do think that it's far too expensive for what it is. You can find even brighter bulbs on Amazon for much less money, so do look around before you commit.

bright indeed
This bulb is surprisingly heavy. As a non electritian I was wondering what that talk about ballast is ...The manual shows it in a diagram: Some bulbs to be replaced in usually commercial environment may have a bit similar to Neon lights a starter, capacitor and what they call ballast (so it isnt the weight ...). These LED bulbs need a simple circuit like any normal bulb, so some of these extras in the circuit of the other bulbs must be removed or bridged before installing the LED bulb. See the manual. For a home user in his workshop, where a stronger bulb is installed safe, its just a replacement. Note that these LED bulbs are quite big, especially in the higher wattages.I used a metal lampshade 27cm diameter with an E27 socket for testing. This works well together, since my 20W only LED bulb is getting barely warm, unlike a standard 100W bulb which gets hot, not to talk about even more watts. The light is bright for just 20W. On a white wall or ceiling it shines not even, there are brighter or less bright areas, in the pattern of a star. That just means that these bulbs cannot be used for a flat equal lighted surface. This is no point in lighting commercial buildings for what they are intended. There are recently coming out new LED lights fixed in flat housings, and they shine quite equal and directed. But this bulb here is still my preferred type, when it burns out one day, just replace the bulb. The other lights need to be disconnected from the cable, and completely replaced with housing. The packing has a CE mark, the bulb not. There is some engraved print on them, so why not that CE and soon UKCA?Even the circuit could be there, space is plenty.Pleace note, there is no warning about potencial hazard to your eyes. DO NOT LOOK FROM CLOSE RANGE STRAIGHT INTO THESE BRIGHT BULBS. This warning and safe distance schould be mentioned in the manual at least. In a home workshop is not everybody thinking anout sooo much brightness.

very expensive and there is better option for sale in the market
The media could not be loaded. this lamp has a great clarity the materials used in the construction of this lamp are of good quality bringing a beautiful finish. But the price of £30 to £35 for this LED lamp, in my opinion it is not worth that price since we can find a lamp with the same power for a much lower price or even a kit of two or three lamps for the same price.

Lights up the area well
Bright Source 20W LED Corn Light, E27 [2,500 Lumen]The Bright Source corn light comes packed in a polythene packet inside a sturdy box with formed cardboard supports to keep it safe in transit. There is also a sheet with instructions on how to fit the bulb if it is replacing a lamp with a ballast connector. The lamp is well made with each bank of LEDs mounted on a substantial aluminium heatsink. There are six banks of eight LEDs facing outward and sixteen LEDs mounted on the top, the combination gives good light coverage to all areas.I have two lamp fitting on my garage to light up the garden at night they both have an E27 bulb fitting. I have LED lights fitted to both lamps although one has recently begun to flicker. So the Bright Source corn light couldn’t have come at a more opportune moment. The light bulb being replaced was a fairly high wattage one bought from a well-known Swedish flat-pack furniture supplier. It had a reasonable light output but nowhere near as good as the Bright Source one.I don’t have anything to compare the brightness of this lamp with but I would say it puts out as much light as a halogen lamp. However, the good thing is that it shines in all directions and lights the whole area brightly.I am impressed with the light produced by this LED Corn Light, it is far better than I had expected and lights the area well. For a power consumption of just 20 watts it is very good.
