Robert Adams: The New West

This book is a historical reference and should be on anyone's shelf, anyone who is interested in Contemporary and Landscape photography that is. A perfect companion to "Los Angeles Spring"—the most accomplished work by R. Adams in my (subjective but informed) opinion. The prints and their reproductions reflect the luminosity of the the light in the west (no, they are neither "over-exposed" nor "blown-out"), and the printer/publisher should also be complimented for this achievement. The book is designed by Joshua Chang whose keen understanding of R. Adams and his work was fully and successfully exposed during the excellent retrospective he curated at Yale. A must-have.

I quite enjoyed this book. The photos are square format and a bit overexposed or blown out, in keeping with Adam's particular style. Don't let that deter you, though. The essay by Sarkowski is excellent, as usual. The photos are excellent, the subject matter engaging.

タイポロジーとして、非常に成功している写真集である。ただ、タイトルにあるように、衝撃、という点では物足りない。それから、フォーマットに若干のブレがあるので、⭐︎ ４つ。写真自体は非常に良いのだが、おとなしすぎて（だからこそタイポロジーなのだが。）評価が下がったが、一見の価値ありだと思う。

Great re-release of a classic photobook. Great quality, a wonderful addition to anyone's collection.
