I purchased these to put on top of the posts of my cottage deck and they fit perfect. I like the fact that they're plastic and didn't need to be painted.

These slipped on easily but firmly and look as expected. I expect they will be much longer lasting than the wooden I got from Lowe's that fell apart after 1-1/2 seasons.

Before I attempted to buy these I asked if they would fit on a true 4x4, not a 3.5x3.5. I was told they would fit a true 4x4. WRONG!! These require 3.5x3.5 post and will absolutely NOT fit a true 4x4. Other than I can’t use them, they look fine and are make from approximation 0.1” thick plastic.
