VERY HAPPY WITH MY DECISION TO BUY THIS STAND!!
I did my research on buying a stand for at least 2 weeks before making a decision. And, I have to say, I'm VERY happy that I purchased the mStand Laptop Stand. This solid stand works perfectly with my 15" brand new MacBookPro. It holds it securely in place, is well-made, and I can even carry the stand AND the laptop around from floor to floor together (thanks to that hole in the back of the stand) depending on where I want to use both! (Naturally, you have to be careful but I've done this often with no problems). It also looks great with the lapbook as it matches and is just a sleek, modern design -- they go together well, like a hand in a glove! I will be using this for my business and for personal use. So far, I'm loving it and have no complaints. I considered the swivel stand, but being the klutz that I am, I feared I'd hit the swivel and knock over a cup of coffee or create some other disaster. Also, I read reviews regarding the swivel option and many said that it turns VERY easily. Again, for someone like me, that's not a risk I'm willing to take, although for some, less klutzy people and for those who do not work alone, as I do, it could work - for sharing what is on the screen. I like the fact that the stand is VERY sturdy. Your laptop will NOT slip off at all. Right now, I have this on my bed and I'm even typing directly onto my laptop. (the swivel would NOT be a good option for that at all). I do have a wireless keyboard and mouse for my work, but for occasionally typing right onto it, it's perfect! After scouring the internet and reading MANY reviews, I have to say I am VERY happy with my decision and would highly recommend it as a safe method of securely raising your laptop to a better height for viewing and working on, either professionally or personally. Although the height is not adjustable, you can always adjust your seat if it's not at a perfect height or put the stand on something solid, like a large thick book to give it an extra 1 to 2 inches, if needed. When it is sitting on a standard table or desk height, the height works fine for me and I'm 5'5" tall. (This is as opposed to if you're sitting on a bed --- which in this case, I put the stand on a very thick large hardback book). As usual, Amazon delivered it to my eagerly waiting self in a timely manner. It was packed up well and a joy to open and use! Highly recommended!

Just don't quibble
If you have a Macbook and you need a stand for it, just buy this one. It is wicked cool. It is solid as a rock. When I, a 200 pound ex-heavy construction worker, reef on it, it doesn't move. It's made of Real Metal, an increasingly rare thing in this, the Age of Thermoformed Plastic. It looks like your Mac grew out of it. I have no doubt that after the apocalypse (zombie, killer robot, or nerd-rapture), scavengers will dig it from the rubble and find a use for it. It will keep your MacBook cooler, both by allowing air flow under the bottom of the chassis, and by acting as a heat sink. One of the reasons I went for it is that my 13", which is running the core i7 2.97GHz proc, runs hotter than a rocket and I was worried about cooling when it was sitting on my wooden desk. This stand mitigates that situation perfectly. I just felt around under the edge while it is doing a disk restore to an external HD and it's nice and cool. Your choice here is clear, if you have decided you need a stand for your Mac Lappie. You can spend twenty to thirty dollars for a plastic piece of rubbish, which will fall apart in a few years (if you're lucky). Or you can spend ten to fifteen dollars more (How many lattes? How many micro-pints?) and buy something beautiful, bombproof, functional, and designed to the bone, which will last you for the rest of your life, and the life of many MacBooks to come. The choice is yours. I am totally happy with my choice, and would do it again in an instant. Thank you, Rain Design, for giving me a viable choice. Cheers Pic

Seamless integration with the MacBook platform! A trifecta of form, function, and durability!
I do most of my work on a MacBook Pro because I like the portability of it. As an academic, sometimes the halls outside my office can be a bit too noisy and chaotic to focus and get work done. But I was getting a lot of tension headaches at the end of a long day, and I came to realize that it was caused by tension building up in my neck and shoulders from hunching over the laptop all day. So I bought this stand for my office (along with the Logitech wireless solar keyboard for Mac) so that at least when I'm working in my office I can put the screen at eye level. Another option I considered was connecting the MacBook to a desktop monitor, but this seemed more convenient for easy setup and takedown. I'm very happy with it. It is constructed of a solid piece of aluminum, just like the MacBook, and the color match is pretty much perfect. It holds my 13" MacBook Pro and my MacBook Air perfectly and it is very sturdy. Some of the other options I looked at were a bit less expensive, but they also looked like they put the computer in a precarious position. The mStand is very solid, with sturdy rubber feet on the bottom where it contacts the desk surface, and on the top to hold the computer in place. You would really have to whack the thing hard to knock it over. It's very aesthetically attractive and looks like it was made specifically for the Mac. In fact I've received compliments on it from other Mac users who are very envious of it. Love it! Oh yeah, and the tension headaches seem to have gotten a lot fewer and farther between since I started using it, so I think it achieved its main purpose.

Gran qualità. In alluminio e ben solido, si adatta molto bene ai Mac. Mantiene lo schermo in una posizione ottimale. Altamante raccomandato anche dal New York Times nella rubrica "Wirecutter".

Stand is very sturdy and well made. It holds my Macbook very comfortably, with no movement of the computer. I use an external keyboard and mouse, and this raises it to a very comfortable height and angle. There is a small cutout at the front of the stand which is designed perfectly, so that I can open my laptop without any problems. The extra space under the computer is also a nice to have. Would highly recommend this stand.

I like how it is a good height and angle. It is very sleek and I like the rubber stoppers that prevent my laptop from sliding around.
