Updated Nov 11, 2025 After one year, we still haven't gotten the warning to change filter. We are two persons+2 cats with 3.6L/123oz of water fountain tank that needs to be changed every 10 - 15 days and I also cook and drink a lot. The machine still works perfectly fine. There's no leakage or malfunction occurred at all. Couldn't recommend this enough! ------------ Old review Background before buying APEC I'm familiar with RO water and prefer it over anything else. I also used RO filter in Thailand and when I moved to USA I thought the water quality would be better so I wasn't looking for RO filter. I used tap water for cooking and drinking by filtering with Brita before but I personally hated it because there's still chlorine smell and honestly you can't trust water quality these days because there's a lot of contamination in it so Ineeded better filtration. Water quality It's RO so quality is as good as the bottled water. No chlorine smell. Water has taste but it has no sharp feeling when drinking. If you're worried that RO will get rid of minerals in the water, to be honest, you can get minerals from somewhere else - cooking, supplemental pills etc. Having access to non contaminated water is my priority. Filtration system When you use up one cycle it takes 90 seconds to filter new cycle in it. It doesn't take long at all. The noise can be high but it never really bothers me as it's a quick process. The vdo I attached is of when it's filtering new tank. Suitable for 2 people with small animals. We are a couple and have 2 cats with big tank of water fountain. I also cook a lot. Bigger household should consider under the sink installation instead. We use tap water, it's NOT suitable for well water. Design is modern with decent materials. It's convenient especially those living in an apartment where you're not allowed to drill.

I've been using this system for a couple weeks now and it has been the perfect solution to my undrinkably sulfuric water. I think the water I get from this is better than bottled. The installation process was easy, but there was one small part I had a really hard time with, so I want to describe it below in case anyone else comes here with the same problem looking for help: I could not for the life of me screw the faucet adapter onto the faucet when I was under the sink. Outside of the sink, I had no problem at all with it, but once I was upside-down I just couldn't do it, and neither could anyone else in my house. I ended up putting the entire faucet assembly together above the sink, and then snaking the whole thing through the hole in the sink. In order to do that, I had to ditch the hard black plastic washer that came with the faucet (since it couldn't flex through the hole in the sink) and made three flexible rubber washers out of stuff I had in the garage. Then I put the whole faucet assembly together (faucet -> rubber washers -> lock washer -> lock nut -> faucet adapter). Individually, the rubber washers could bend through the hole in the sink, and then once they were all together, they provided enough of a solid foundation that I could screw the lock nut tightly against them. Other than that, everything was simple and straightforward. Very happy with this!

This water filter system is simply AMAZING! The installation is simple, yet hard. Let me explain. The instructions are clear and the steps are simple, plus there are numerous instruction videos on YouTube you can watch before getting started. Nevertheless, working in the very restricted space under your sink is a real pain in the you know what. However long you think it'll take to install, double it! Here are my tips: Put Teflon tape on EVERYTHING before getting under the sink. Ever try to apply Teflon tape with one hand completely outstretched and bent 90 degrees and you can see the work area with only one eye with only half of you flashlight on it? Yeah, it's as hard as it sounds. The drain saddle has fitted indents to hold the nuts in place. Pop them in beforehand so you wont need to use a wrench to hold them in place while you tighten the screws. Also, use something to poke through the drain saddle and the hole you made in the drain line to keep them lined up. I used a small drill bit, but something like a chopstick would also work. A pen or pencil will be too thick. Make sure you have another person to help you install the faucet. It is impossible to sufficiently tighten the nut under to sink to keep the faucet firmly in place without someone holding the faucet to keep it from spinning. I did attempt to pad a set of vice grips to hold it, but after a few spins they simply slipped off. I didn't want to clamp down the vice grips very tightly for fear of damaging the faucet. So right now my faucet is loose and can spin around, but the system still works just fine. When the wife and kids return from their weekend trip I'll have the helper I need to tighten the faucet correctly. The instructions say to wait 2-3 hours for the storage tank to fill before running it for 5 minutes to empty it. Mine was easily filled within 2 hours. I drained it for 6 minutes then waited another hour and drained it for another 5 just to be sure I flushed out any sediment or carbon from the new filters. The final test was with the taste of the water, which was GREAT! I recently moved to San Antonio , TX and the water here has a very noticeable and unpleasant chlorine smell and taste, even after passing through the activated charcoal filter built into our Whirlpool refrigerator (which prompted us to purchase this RO filter in the first place). When I compared a small glass of water side by side from the frig water dispenser and this RO system the difference was like night & day. I am VERY pleased with the results. Now I want to purchase the refrigerator kit to extend the water from the filter to the refrigerator. Unfortunately my sink is directly opposite the refrigerator in my kitchen and I doubt the water pressure will be sufficient to push the water halfway around the room. However, the results are so good I may just purchase another system and stick it under the cabinet next to the refrigerator.

Worst purchase ever. The filter failed the next day and customer support was rude after hours of no response. Do not trust this company.
