Review: Well written text covering the whole electrical ambit of modern motorcycles (and some older). The writer makes few assumptions regarding the reader's knowledge of electric motor & dynamo/alternator principles, and provides a good basic explanation of electron and electrical theory, electromagnetism and semiconductors. He even discusses basic 2/4 stroke theory, the stoichiometric ratio (and lamda), fuel injection and ABS. The theory presented lightens the mystery of the black box CDI e.g., although I wouldn't want to tackle and repair a fault in an ABS - but at least I now have a working knowledge of what makes it tick. Apart from the practical application of the theory, the text provides a good grounding for further more specific (and heavier) reading. For what it's worth, I would recommend this book to anyone as a general interest volume leading to a better understanding of what makes the beasts tick, or as practical background when fault finding and fixing. Review: The book is good, it offers plenty of information for beginners and there are many pictures and illustrations to help with the reading. Only letdown for me is that the pages are too thin and what is printed on the back of the page comes through too easily. See pic. Very annoying.
