update june 2020: more than two years later and i now use this grip on four motorcycles and i still feel very pleased with this cradle. no failures with five cradles. it still grips very well. i use riding off road and it has held the phone even when i drop the bike. i use the arkon adapter mentioned the original review below with ram mount on all bikes. the combination of the arkon adapter and the ram ball offers maximum flexibility for angling the phone and reduces vibration. i also have an extra mount with which i travel, for use when i travel and ride. in my setup -samsung s9+ and pixel xl, with arkon adapter and ram mount, this is a top recommendation. original review feb 2018: excellent mount for use on motorcycles. i originally tried Ram Mount Cradle Holder for Universal X-Grip Cellphone/iPhone with 1-Inch Ball - Non-Retail Packaging - Black and then the Rokform [Mount Only] Pro Series Motorcycle Mount CNC Machined Aluminum, Twist Lock and Magnetic Mounting . both held phone well even in rough terrain. the x-grip takes up a lot of space and required careful inserting to avoid the side buttons for touching grips and my phone did fall off x-grip once, during crash off-road. no harm to phone. the rokform mount requires a mount attached to the phone which, i eventually didn't appreciate because the affected my ability to use with a magnetic mount in the car and rokform makes the phone thicker and less elegant. also, rokform mount broke apparently from stress fatigue and finally rokform is expensive. techgripper is more elegant. grips phone securely and, with ram mounts adapter, offers many mounting options. is fairly compact. use this adapter, ARKON 25mm Ball to 17mm Ball Adapter - Black - SP25MM17 , to use with ram mounts. i think that my search may end here. so, far no complaints

Very disappointed Pictures show a handle bar mount but it’s not included in the purchase. It’s useless without the ability to mount it. Because of this, I found the product pictures misleading and will be returning it.

Sold my bike with it still on there. had to get another cause its been absolutely great. The almost 10 years I had the other one for. It's well worth it.

I've had this mounted for years now on a steering stem ball on my 2008 Yamaha FJR 1300. It has firmly held every Samsung Galaxy phone I've owned. Mind you, each phone has been in a simple soft case, but I'm sure a phone without a case would be held just as firmly. Even in rain, I've had no concern. It's a two-hand process to place and remove, but I'm fine with that.
