We did a STEAM themed Christmas for our 4-year-old this year (wanting to get away from all the electronic gadgets) This toy was an instant favorite. He started building with it the minute he got the wrapping paper off of it. It is his go-to toy every morning as he heads into the playroom. He loves creating "houses and castles" with the set that include numerous linked spinning gears. Because of the size of the pieces, it is easy for him to manipulate on his own. Every day he creates several different structures. I can see the engineering skills growing in complexity each day - he has even built structures similar to the idea sheet pictures 100% on his own! The favorite heads up to bed with him every night. He incorporates it into the nighttime story he makes up for me each night. I am so happy we bought this and highly recommend it to others!

I bought 2 of these as Christmas gifts for my 5 year old twin grandsons, but they stayed with us the week before Christmas and the weather kept us indoors pretty much the whole time. I needed some indoor creative activity and brought these out to play. So glad I did! The boys played with the building sets for literally hours. They particularly loved the gears and built all kinds of "machines" and "vehicles" with the components of the set. I highly recommend this set for the 4-7 year age child. Very well made, sturdy, colorful and provides unlimited creative play. If more than one child is playing I definitely suggest getting 2 sets so there are plenty of wheels and gears to share!

Wonderful construction toy. I bought this for my daughter after buying the Construction Engineering Blocks from the same company. My daughter loved the Engineering Blocks, and she likes these but they are harder to build, she's almost 3, but I have to help her build them, some of the pieces are hard to get in, while other pieces seem loose and will occasionally fall off (the wheels). I'd give this toy 5 stars if it came with a "tool" to help build everything or connect the pieces, so that she could do more of it on her own, rather than telling me what to build and just sitting next time me watching.

We love these toys. I’m sad they are so hard to find now. We want to get more of them to add to our collection but I’m finding it hard to find these same building toys 3 years after originally ordering.

My five year old son absolutely loves this. He has to actually think about how things work in order to put something together that is functional so I love it as well. It is very educational and I love it when he comes to show me each New Creation. He loves to show it to me and show me how it works. The pieces are very high quality and functional. He has only had it as of Christmas Day 2016 but he is already put it to plenty of use. It seems very durable and as though it is going to last for a very long time.

I ended up getting a second kit because I really like the first one. A lot can be done with these. It would be great for kids 4-9 to learn and play with.pros:simple to build thingscons:some more thought could have gone into the design. For example ways to combine pieces are kind of limited because of unnecessary design decisions.

Originally I was extremely unhappy w/ this toy, but it turns out I received defective blocks that did not fit together easily. The company who makes this toy reached out to me and sent a free replacement. Turns out the replacement blocks go together 100x easier and my kids are happy, so up from 1 star to 4 stars. Still have to deduct a start for the bin being too small unless carefully sorted.

Both of my grandsons are enjoying this toy! It is challenging for the little one and also interesting enough so that the older one can assist in building Projects. It is sturdy, age-appropriate and comes with a wonderful plastic case to keep all pieces together!
