These are the wireless headphones to beat.
When I first heard about the THX Drop Panda, I was skeptical at all the hype surrounding the device. No noise canceling, no ambient sound, no extra bells or whistles? What were they thinking? Fast-forward about a year and I finally pulled the trigger when it "dropped" to lower price. I'm glad I did. These are by far the overall best headphones I have, and I have a few. The Drop Panda are made of a hard plastic so they are light and durable. The ear cups do a good job of completely covering your ears, so sound leaks are minimal. That goes both ways as outside noise is also kept to a minimum. It doesn't have active noise canceling but it doesna great job of keep unwanted noise at bay. They are comfortable enough that wear fatigue is an issue for me. As for the audio, what it comes down to is the lack of any pre-installed equalizer. You are free to adjust the headphones as you see fit without having to fight with the out of box pre-adjusted sound signature. There is an app that scans how you hear and adjust the sound to your unique style. It then uploads your personal sound to the headphones for use on any audio device. It's amazing. Whether it be a tablet, a phone, a stereo system, the headphones will sound the same across the board. No need to adjust it per device. The $400+ price point is a bit high in my opinion but if you can find them for $300 or less, they are wll worth it

I'm sure these sound excellent, but...
I'm sure these sound excellent, but the one I bought used (you cant buy them new anymore) would not turn on. The led indicator turned on, but it just turns off a second later. According to forums online, that's a sign it had been bricked and there is no way to fix it. The AUX cable works and it does sound great, but I bought these for their Bluetooth functionality. There are a lot better sounding wired headphones out there for cheaper. According to many owners on the internet, these headphones have a tendency to brick themselves. That's why DROP discontinued them. If you want a Bluetooth headphones with similar audio quality, get the Apple Airpods Max. They're more expensive, but their build quality is second to none. Hopefully DROP comes out with a 2nd version of these. But in the meantime, stay away from theses.

Drop+THX-Panda headphones *UPDATE
I used to be a club DJ, Remix producer, etc... and have about 5 high end headphones and head-amps, power amps, 4-way speaker systems, etc ... so I'm familiar with what sounds right for me. I've been reading, as well as viewing MANY reviews on headphones and amps. I had made the mistake of purchasing a tube DAC from Ukraine... based partly on a review of a known yt'er (it was for the amp, not their DAC- to be fair). I assumed that a DAC from them would be more logical, since it was needed (and also included an amp). The difficult part now is to build a system around that. Over about a year later, I've yet to audition the DAC, or find the right amp to enhance my signal. I've read many reviews here, and viewed several on YT about these headphones. I want to be Crystal clear here: If you can, try them in a store, and stop trying to search for the "perfect" product by reading reviews for hours on end. People embellish and exaggerate. I opened the package and automatically set them to charge- just in case- with my own cable, as a type C to type C was included but I use a type A charging hub. After 2 hours, I turned them on by pressing and holding the joystick in for 10 seconds- which first powered them on, then paired to my network, (Bluetooth) all with a very retro gaming sound. I'm not sure how the battery life is yet. These headphones sound good, can be modified with the app (once/ if you decide to), which I "may" do eventually, just to boost the sub bass- if I prefer. A pilot pad for them can be purchased separately- if you need more padding. I purchased one in anticipation for a very uncomfortable headset (that never happened for me). They're as comfortable as my Sony XM 3's. I also added low end and tweaked the treble to my liking on my Sony's and EVERYTHING sounds great, regardless how many seem to put their sound down. SONY XM3 *VERY forgiving of source quality. Once I get around to tweaking sound through the app for the Panda's, I'll try to figure out which is best for me. Right now (even though the bass needs more accentuation) the Panda's edge it out. I listen to everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING. I tried them out listening to a few live concerts on YT: Fleetwood Mac, RHCP, Rush, Led Zeppelin, etc... approved! I never felt the need to go over 75%, all instruments were present and clearly separate. I'd love to have the "subwoofer effect" included, but I may be able to balance it out with the app. I'm not really sure how the THX amps are affecting the sound but I don't care. All good. Panda's *LESS forgiving of source quality I'm not sure how good the noise canceling is- sorry. Since I did already purchase a pilot pad for the headset, I look forward to trying it ... but I don't feel the need to yet. I just received a separate order for the Soundcore Life Q35 headphones, expecting that I would return the Panda's- I won't be doing that. I will be checking out the Q35's for future use. Thanks to all who have read this. 8/30/ UPDATE: After a few weeks of use (on and off) I put them to charge. About 8 hours later, I tried to turn them on- nothing. I placed them back to keep charging. I returned- nothing. I completed all of their troubleshooting steps, nothing. I wanted to see if I could view the battery life of them as I was connected with their app, I couldn't complete the setup for that- nothing. This is about 3 months after purchase, so no Amazon warranty left. I was informed that Drop has their warranty coverage. I could have done it through Amazon (*as a courtesy), but I would have to pay a hefty restocking fee. I chose to try with Drop. After some jumping through hoops, I was told to ship back and return for a refund (NOT a replacement - they "no longer have inventory "). Shipping fees are the obligation of the customer. I'm not sure how much yet, or if I'll receive a full refund-I'll find out. Sound quality of these headphones was very good. They did overheat my ears. Issues with trying the app- Issues with charging/ holding a charge- Customer service could have been better, but I kinda understand their position- I always had a funny feeling about doing any business with Drop, but I figured I'd have more luck ordering a Drop product FROM Amazon. Unfortunately, my issues happened outside of the return window. Press your luck, if so inclined! **update 8/2022 Drop reimbursed my full purchase price by check, and return shipping fees in the form of credit to be applied to future orders on their site (close to $30!). I'm not sure if I'll EVER trust them again. I'd love to try an updated version of this headphones, if ever available (I don't see it happening tho, imho... just saying). *** final update... I miss the sound of these. The company (Drop- being flexible... kinda) Sound-5 Item quality- 2 Manufacturer- 2 Amazon (RE: this order) - 1

don’t see how a bluetooth headphone could sound any better
I had a perfectly good pair of bose qc35 but i really wanted the best sounding headphone possible and i won’t sacrifice bluetooth. these really do sound incredible, you can really tell the difference with certain songs. people exaggerate the discomfort. i’m coming from qc35, probably the most comfortable headphones, and i can wear these pandas for a few hours and take a 10-15 minute break and just keep going. only thing is i would like the ear cups to be a bit deeper, but i like the clamping force. i would recommend listening to music from the 70s 60s and 50s to really see the different in sound quality to other bluetooth headphones, some songs are kinda crazy.

Bluetooth sounding better than I’d ever expected!
Been using these for watching TV on my LG CX OLED, as well as listening to music and podcasts on my iPhone. The sound quality is fantastic, and I haven’t had any dropouts while watching movies! I honestly can’t tell a difference between wired headphones to my TV and these, nor can I tell a noticeable difference between these (closed back) and my previous headphones I used with my TV (open backed). These headphones are slightly heavy (probably due to the battery, amp, etc.) but nothing bad (I don’t have any major comfort complaints after a 3 hour movie). These come with a USB C charging cable (no charging brick) and 3.5mm cable for listening wired (haven’t tried this yet). Finally, the battery life seems to live up to the promise of 30 hours from my experience. I’m very impressed with that!

Expected More
I really wanted to like these. In my opinion, the visual appeal of these is top-notch. (The aesthetic appeal is a big reason I chose them!) However, for $400, they had some frustrating issues: 1. They're heavy, which isn't terribly uncommon (considering the tech that's in them), but pairing their weight with an uncomfortable band that poorly distributes the load, and we have a problem. I can only use them for maybe 15-30 minutes before needing to adjust them or give my head a break altogether. If I wear a hat/beanie, they are far more bearable for long periods, but who wants headphones that require a hat? (sold separately!) 2. These were purchased for two reasons; block out the "high-displacement" HVAC at my work so I could listen to music, and replace the company-provided headset for meetings. Unfortunately, despite the ear cups sitting well over my ears and seeming to form a seal, the sound-canceling feature is out-performed by the age-old technology of covering your ears with your hands. The bluetooth connects to my pc well and I had no quality issues with the speakers or microphone, but every 15 minutes or so the headphones shut off. They also will randomly distort my coworkers voices in a way that sounds like a robot was talking into an angelic microphone while popping bubble-wrap and T-Pain, hopped up on a new psychedelic upper known only as "Squibbly Squabbles", took to the auto-tuning a little too far. There are some very nice features about these and the sound is probably what you should expect for the price. I'm sure these will be a whole new listening experience for people who haven't had higher-end headphones and that quality will outweigh the cons. Personally, I can't get over the cons - especially considering Sony has a $200 headphone that I would rank at the same level as these. TL;DR I'd recommend these if you intend to use them exclusively with your phone or with a wired connection, you don't mind a moderately uncomfortable pair of headphones AND you don't need to filter out much background noise.

Save your money go with a different headphones
I bought this headphone because the reviews seemed great, but after getting my hands on them the disappointment started. I could start to hear a small buzz when no music was playing, on some of my devices the headphones would just turn off and not from a dead battery which showed over 60% charge. the sound quality was terrible it sounded like terrible lows but great highs. the audio was also distorted even when using an aux cable. Sad to receive such a bad quality of product from drop when they usually test their products well before they are sent.

AVOID failed after just under 6 months of normal use
Amazing headphones. sound amazing unfortunately when you spend $400 they should last for more than 6 months. headphones decided to randomly not turn back on after working fine all day and now no matter what I attempt a hard reset from instructions and nothing. They are completely dead. I can only assume internal hardware failure.
