Works great, indoor or out.
I love this thing. I recently switched to a long putter, and practicing with this has really helped me develop my technique to consistently start puts online. Most importantly I've discovered this is a fabulous indoor training aid and I'll be using it a lot this coming winter. The whole point is to practice your start line, so you really don't need a green or even an indoor putting matt. Really glad I bought this.

Great but not for turf
It is a great training aid but if you want to use it on an artificial putting green (turf) it will be moving every time you putt. There is no way you can fix it to the turf.

Good Training Device!
This little device won't help you read greens or perfect your putting touch to the point that you always putt the ball the correct distance, but it will tell you IMMEDIATELY if you're not starting your putts on the chosen line. I use it on my indoor putting carpet and occasionally on the putting green at my club, and it has helped me improve my putting. Just be prepared to chase those little steel balls across the floor, because, if your stroke is off, the golf ball will dislodge one of those steel balls and send it rolling!

Helped me and I'm a single digit handicap and an excellent putter
I've always been strong on pressure putting- 6' and in. My lag putting is under control this year but used to pose a challenge. However, I just wasn't draining those 12-20' putts EVER. If you don't get what this is about, watch the free video on Pelz' site. Yes it can be easy for many of us to hit it past the narrowest ball bearings but it doesn't stop there. You need to also use this to train your green reading. Follow the suggested drills. Read a medium putt and hit it through the gate. Did it go in? No? Why not? Too high, too slow, too low? I'm giving my medium putts more pace and challenging the hole. I miss on the high side but my goal is to always at least graze the hole. The 3' come backers are no sweat. Most of us lag even 6-10' putts but great players do not. They take on the hole and it takes practice. My son is a plus 1 and an amazing putter but terrible teacher lol. But I observe him and they go in with pace. I have been doing just that and felt compelled to check in with a review after a round where I made 7 putts from 8-24'. The dramatic thing was I lipped 3 other birdie putts from 15-20'. It was the best round of putting I've had in years and I attribute it to having supreme confidence in my ability to roll the ball 6-10' on line. At that point it is all about the read and to a lesser extent the speed. Making sure I get it by the hole of I miss. Eventually I'll dial my miss speed back to 1' rather than 3' because that is what greats do as well.

The best.
This may be the best putting training aid ever made. Instant feedback. Practice time is shortened with such good feedback. If you push or pull a putt, this little device tells you immediately. Buy this and a putting mirror and it's all you'll ever need to get you the tools to building a great stroke.

Not worth the money.
It does teach you to hit the ball straight. I think for the price it should come with the specially marked golf ball they show on the box. It's a bit deceiving and misleads one to think ot includes tha ball unless you read the fine print. Bottom line, I would NOT recommend anyone to pay the money for it. You can make one with some stickers and a flat piece of plastic from a plate.
