When a powerful new Internet Digimon hatches and begins to consume data at an alarming rate, the Digidestined - kids chosen to save the digital world - must put an end to the destruction before the damage becomes irreversible and worldwide communication halts forever. As computer-based missiles are launched, and a wayward Digimon kidnaps the Digidestined, only the combined efforts of a worldwide network of kids and a new group of "Digidestined" can rescue the others and stop global disaster. Review: What a Re-release should be. Absolute Perfection. - I've been getting some classic shows and movies that I liked on physical media, and I was surprised to see the original Digimon movies on blu-ray. They're remastered extremely well and look very crisp on a 4K TV. Digimon: the Movie, in it's American cut with the original English dub is available (it is the three films mashed into one). In addition, there are also the Japanese originals which are standalone films, with both the original Japanese audio with English subtitles, and even an English dub for the individual films! The subtitles are great, they even manage to capture Tentomon's Kansai dialect into English by transcribing it as more casual English (contractions and "ya" instead of "you", etc.). The films themselves are peak late-90s anime film style, with hand drawn cels with occasional digital additions (such as the digi-eggs in the original Digimon Adventure film, or most of the fights in Our War Game). The nostalgia hit while watching the films was great, and the plot line is pretty engaging even in 2025. The extras are nice too. There are high-def scans of production art, cels, and the movie posters. The original previews for the Japanese films are included, subtitled but not remastered. There are interviews and bloopers for the new 2024 dub included as well. I don't know how they could have done better with this release, I don't think I've seen a single re-release this robust and well done. It's well worth the price. Review: Another great Discotek release - When this was originally announced, I was ecstatic. Even if I wasn't a huge Digimon nerd as a kid, I still loved Digimon: The Movie and have a lot of nostalgia for it. And when I got this in the mail, it's like the kid in me reawakened. Watching the movie not only with a new coat of paint, but also as its original three OVA movies uncut with a new dub was such a refreshing experience. The new dubs were great too! The returning voice actors did a great job, and the new voice actors were exceptional! I hope they return for more Digimon dubs in the future. The only thing missing here is the Angelica Anaconda short, and that isn't even a complaint. I get the nostalgia for it but I always hated it! I always skipped it, and now I don't even need to do that. Thank you, license troubles. Anyway, this is absolutely the best way to watch these OVAs and the movie. The movie uses the existing OVA HD remaster footage and inserts film reel scans for any English footage, and honestly it blends really well together. I could barely notice the changes. Enjoyed both the old and new
When I first heard about the redub, I was excited. This was by far one of my favorite movies growing up and was usually my go to for sick days. But rewatching it as an adult, especially as the movies were originally intended was a treat in itself. It was a movie I was all so familiar with yet new in the same. Loved watching the all 3 movies as originally written. Added more depth to the characters and the storyline as a whole. It’s slower yes, which is something I would not have enjoyed as much as a kid, but overall glad to have gotten this as an adult.

A respectable job to the original movies.
I wasn't expecting this when it released. It's great to see a lot of the old cast reprise their roles here and the fact that all three were covered is insanely amazing and great value. Honestly if you are a fan and don't have this in your collection then it is a disservice to yourself.

Yes
Brought me back to my childhood. Warm and friendly. At one point 10 years ago I had some mid-quality ports on a hard drive from a Bittorrent because these are so insanely expensive and difficult to find in the USA. If that last sentence irks you, it probably should, because my ISP almost fined me for the habit. That being said, I've watched all the original Japanese cuts, yet to watch the remastered Digimon Movie and New English Dub. Thoughts on Japanese cuts: I only discerned a slight loss/clipping in audio in "01 Digimon Adventure" at the beginning when the Bolero is playing, although I am not sure if that is from the source or some thing after the source (like encryption/encoding/writing etc). That being said I love this movie and all of them. They are so cute and charming and friendly. The audio is crisp and clean and Hosoda Mamoru has an incredible style, stuck with a lot of 90's kids. Hurricane Touchdown's title is confusing, as it appears to be composed of two parts: the second being called "Golden Digimentals!!". Outside the USA, intermissions half-way into a movie are common, and so the before-mentioned name is this specific second part. Thus the single movie itself has one name composed of two sub-names. ;) I highly recommend this. Thank you so much for this!!

I'll admit, when it originally came to cinemas, I didn't go to see it because I was a Pokémon fan, but I grew into Digimon. I do love the film and the humour of it, but then again, I am a big child and still have the same interests I had when I was younger. I can't fault the film, although it would've been nice to have scenes cut out from the English dub as well as Japanese dubbing and subtitles. If you watch the Japanese AND the English, you'll realise they're very different films due to what's been cut out and what the Japanese actually say. I'd of liked to have had both just to see the comparison, but I can see why it wasn't included. The Japanese version is much darker (Tai and Kari's dad is an alcoholic that comes home drunk late at night?). Over all, I do love this film, and so does my friend, hence why I bought two copies!

Watching the dubbed japanese movies I realise how empty they feel without the english music or themes from the shows. Despite my disappointment with that, this has the highest quality of the original american film, much better than an old vhs rip. The bloopers reel was a lot of fun. Overall, I am quite happy with this release!
