Love my new printer.
I bought this because I fell prey to the HP instant ink scam and could not for the life of me get out of it. Screw it I thought, I will buy a new printer. Received it today, set it up by myself in minutes, The instructions on the printer itself were excellent. I see a future with so much less cussing going on in my office due to a stupid Printer, I think I might be in love.

Scams with Epson???????
Lousy machine. I did not come with good instructions nor total instructions. I've been online, found the answer to how I get it to print what is on my screen, it worked very well. I went back looking for those instructions but they had been taken down and what was there is the offer to send me instructions, it would cost me a dollar and I had to put it on my charge card....it's a scam. I've talked to Best Buy and they don't tell me or don't know, I've called Epson and they just give me the run around but NO instructions to my simple question. May neighbor gave me some long instructions but not the ones I found that were so simple and worked. Is Epson in on this scam. I've called several times but NO ONE would tell me how to print out what is on my screen. I had an Epson, ran out of black ink. Went to Best Buy and bought a more, put it into my printer but now my printer won't work. When the people at Best Buy they agreed it wasn't an Epson refill but it was in an Epson box. When I did get a real Epson and put it in my printer still wouldn't work. I don't know what is going on but I'm very discouraged and would like to return this printer but understand it's past time. I've worked very hard to learn how to print with it but the only good instructions were online, no more.

Very Happy with my Epson 4820 Printer
So far this has been a great printer. I have owned 3 Epson printers before this so I have been very happy with these printers. The previous printers have all worked, lasted a long time and the last one is still working. I've had this newest Epson 4820 set up for a week now so I'm hoping it last as long as the others. First thing when setting this priner up is "DO NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE". Unless you plan on spending a fortune buying Epson cartridges and don't plan on using the much cheaper remanufactured ink. You can check my review to see what ink I used.

So far so good
Well my HP printer head died -(had it for the last 8 years, so I got my moneys worth out of it, trick is leave it one all the time)I compared this with a similar HP and decided to try Epson because of the ink.Cheaper ink and suppose to last longer -(well do a update when the ink runs out)Pros:Easy to set upHas two printer trays and I loaded in about 400 pages.Printer quality is crisp and clear -(we shall see in about 6 months to a year if this lasts)Scanning is great at 600 dpi very crisp.Haven't test the fax.Cons:It is a bit bigger due to the two paper trays, so make sure you have space to open up the top.Printing, I always used draft to save on ink with HP it was good and clear.Epson, draft is useless as it comes out light and blurry, so this might affect ink usage having to use standard all the time -(will update in 6 months to a year)You have to go searching for a icon to put on your desktop to scan from your computer and to check ink levels. I had one icon for HP now I have two icons for Epson. That's about it for now, so 4 stars because of the draft setting and having to put my own icons on my desktop.Overall I like it a lot so far but time will tell if it holds up as well as my old one.

Excellent product for my home office use.
I purchased this to replace my older model one that stopped working due to my mistake. This one was a very nice upgrade, as it has two paper trays, can use paper much larger paper if needed, can print/copy two sided which was a very important factor affecting my decision to purchase this model, and I can print using blue tooth from my computer or my phone and from the phone is another important factor affecting my decision to purchase. It was extremely easy to set up. I went to Epson's website to download the latest software to my laptop computer and to print to .pdf the manual and instruction booklet. It prints, copies and scans fast for my home office use. Things can be printed in the faster draft mode or in a better quality print which is a little slower, but not too much slower. Draft uses less ink. The ink cartridges are less expensive then the ones for my older workforce. I recommend this model for personal and home office use.
