Goes on milky blue so it’s easy to apply evenly. Do watch for drips on the vertical surfaces, the product is best applied in thin layers. Definitely wet sand for a baby smooth surface.

I purchased this H2Olox in matte finish and, upon arrival, found it was clearly very old and very poorly stored. The contents of the bottle were a chunky, coagulated mess and no amount of shaking solved this. Fortunately I only put a single coat on the underside of a countertop before I became very skeptical of it and contacted the company directly. They also indicated that this is not normal for the product. Waterlox confirmed to me that they do not sell their products on Amazon. This is a great product but DO NOT PURCHASE IT ON AMAZON. Buy the product direct from the company to ensure you’re getting the best quality. Shipping may take a few extra days but it’s a heck of a lot better than ruining an entire project.

I wanted something that would protect my counters without making them shiny and keeping them food safe. This did that beautifully! I used the tung oil sealer, and used this to finish. The instructional videos on the company's website allowed me to feel confidant in my ability to apply the product. So far it is working well to protect the counters and finish.

H2olox works fantastic. The water repelled just like it says it will. It is definitely worth it. Keep in mind it has to be sealed with tung oil or a similar product prior to applying h2olox

Used it on a bench I made out of white oak and stained it with a dark walnut gel stain. Used the Waterlox to seal it. seats in an enclosed entry way. These products were the only way I found to get the matt finish I wanted.

I’m building a custom vanity with a walnut top. I wanted something to make sure the counter is durable, and chose this. What a mistake. Despite sanding/smoothing the wood within an inch of its life; despite carefully following the instructions; and despite allowing 48 hours for the coating to dry, this product RUINED the countertop—like, to the point where I had to give up and go get new wood and start over. It’s sticky. Even after 48 hours. It raised the grain so significantly it’s like I never sanded. And I can’t get it to resmooth—because it’s so sticky/tacky. I’m so disappointed, and I’m out a ton of money (the good quality walnut boards I laminated together are NOT cheap and now I’ve had to buy a bunch more). Avoid this product.
