Good representative of Zydeco. Fun party music

This is an enjoyable CD, but I strongly recommend you purchase Putamayo's ZYDECO instead. It contains some greats like Geno Dalfose's "Bye Bye Mon Neg" and the Creole Zydoco Farmers' "Creole Farmers Stomp," which you won't be able to SIT and listen to. It also has Queen Ida's "My Girl Josephine," which is a classic.Zydeco's Greatest Hits does contain some good, standard cuts like Buckwheat Zydeco's "Ya Ya," and another cut of theirs,"Turning Point," which is great. I also like BooZoo Chavis' "Uncle Bud." For the most part, though, the Putamayo disk will keep you hopping.You may also enjoy Putamayo's LOUISIANA GUMBO which contains a variety of cajun, southern rock, and zydeco.

I like the sound but it seems a short cd. Just get into it and it’s over. I didn’t check the play time. Should’ve.

great dance music and easy listening.. it was my first cd of this type of music and I will be checking out some of the music on other cd's.. arrived earlier than expected and I had my dancing shoes on as soon as I got the wrapper off!!

This is music that gets everyone dancing. I have a CD player in our kitchen and this disc is a frequent flyer on my player. Pour a glass of wine, put on some Zydeco, and cooking dinner becomes fun time.

Having lived in So. Louisiana for years I get homesick for the music and way of life. I have ordered several CD's from Amazon that are Cajun and I love them. They are priced right and always come to my house quickly and in good condition.
