(5 stars as long as you have a working switch on your product.) Bought as a "used" product from amazon warehouse deals. Product was complete, new in original packaging. HOWEVER, Clearly the reason it was in the warehouse for discount sale was because it was DEFECTIVE! The switch mechanism would not work. Would not hold in the "on" (cook) position when lever was pressed as it is suppose to & would pop right back to the warm position. However, fortunately I had the understanding & know how to make appropriate adjustments to fix magnetic switch lever & shortly had it working properly. Bought this product to replace my old non stick Aroma rice cooker which the coating was badly peeling off of and had a pot made from aluminum. Happily, found out that this new stainless steel pot was actually the same exact size pot & lid as my old cooker & fits in my old cooker as well! Which means my old steamer & lid & cooker are all usable parts still! I am taking a chance & buying another warehouse deal of these so that I can have another to use. I have wanted an extra pot to cook in while one is stored in the fridge & a second one would be great. I wish I had known about & had one of these years ago. I really like this product. It is simple but effective. You can cook as little as one cup of rice in it at a time or much more. I wanted a larger pot because I use it for far more than rice. It makes oatmeal quickly & so easily. Other uses include, pasta, potatoes, soups, vegetables, shrimp, hotdogs, etc... Anything you might put in a pot on the stove to boil, you can make in this cooker. The bonus is, if you happen to walk away because of a phone call or interruption & forget you are cooking, once the water boils off, the bottom of the pot warps slightly from the heat, pulling away from the magnetic switch & the cooker switch releases turning the cooker to warm mode. Therefore the bottom of the pots contents only browns slightly but does not burn. The stainless steel with just a slight browned food stuck to it is much easier to clean than stainless with burnt on food!! Plus, in the warm mode, I can slow cook soups & other things in the pot for a whole day or more. I just cover the lid a bit more w/ a towel to keep the heat in better for slow cooking. I was happy with my first rice cooker from Aroma & thought it was a great invention, only I wished it wasn't a nonstick coated aluminum pot. In all of my other cooking I only use steal & cast iron & was not happy to have to use aluminum & non stick coating because of all the characteristic problems as well as health concerns with those materials. I was happier to find they offer it with a stainless steel pot!! Same great cooker made even better!! Plus the stainless steel pot "should" last for years & years longer then the previous aluminum not stick pot. I recommend this product to all my friends.

I bought this in 2021 and it kicked the bucket two weeks ago after regular use and partial melting of the front button mechanism (don't put it too close to a gas stove). It worked wonderfully until its abrupt passage to the great kitchen cabinet in the sky. Good product, good price, great to have in stainless steel, will buy again.

I absolutely love this rice cooker. It's the perfect size for family holiday dinners for my extended family. It cooks quickly and it's stainless steel. The Best rice cooker that I've ever owned.

This AROMA Select Stainless 3-cup rice cooker is the perfect size for my needs, and it doesn’t take over our counter space. I’ve used another Aroma rice cooker for years with zero issues, so I already trusted the brand, but I chose this one because I’ve been moving toward stainless steel cookware and trying to reduce plastic and nonstick coatings like Teflon in my kitchen. Most importantly, it cooks rice the way it should. As an Asian person who’s very particular about rice texture, I’m picky about it being evenly cooked with the right bite, not mushy and not dry, and this one delivers. The price feels fair, and it’s a good value in my opinion because Aroma rice cookers are durable and tend to last a long time when you take care of them. If you want a reliable rice cooker in a practical size with a stainless option, this is an easy recommendation.

We've had a few rice cookers over many years--this is definitely one of the better ones. Nice smaller size for us, easy to clean, nice to have the steam-hole, works very well.

UPDATE: I decided to keep it because my rice comes out oerfectly cooked. I just loosened the screws on the lid a bit to let any soapy water stuck order the plastic handle part and the water now runs through, removing any stuck soap. Its a nice rice cooker- The rice came out nicely cooked but I noticed a black residue on the bottom of my rice on the first use- i hope it's not toxic. I didnt notice the black residue on the 2nd batch or other batches. I think itd a bit over-priced as it looks a bit delicate and Im sure the pot is Not Solid Stainless Steel. I do question whether it's solid stainless steel because I saw a reviewer's picture where the inside of the pot had chipped in some places, so I'm guessing it's a stainless steel coating only. Solid stainless should not chip or scratch. We've been using a solid stainless steel pot, pan and and eating utensils for more than 12 years and no chips or cuts! They are 18/10 stainless steel and still look like new today **see pic of 18/10 stainless spoon- you can see 18/10 printed on the spoon. I also noticed that water (and soap) gets trapped under the lid handle after washing the lid, and you can't clear it out because it's screwed on- this is the reason why i want to return it because I dont want the soapy water leaking into the rice through the screws (or screw holes) from the lid handle- ** See video and pic. I otherwise like the size, color and style of this rice cooker and i really like that it has it's own removable pot and glass lid to wash separately, unlike some modern rice cookers that have the lid attached with rubber around it, which is hard to clean. I do wish it would give an alert when it's done cooking because once it goes into warm mode, it badically keeps cooking and you could end up having burned rice stuck at the bottom. I havent had that happpen because i disconnect it within a few mintutes of the lever going from cook to warm.

so great! i love this thing. rice does stick to it very easily but it’s worth it to not have poisoning from non stick! it’s nice and tiny which is perfect for me because i’m alone in a small apartment #sad

Quality is surely pretty good but quantity of cooked rice is limited barely for two persons.

This cooker is advertised in the Dutch Amazon store but does not come with a plug that fits European outlets. It is an American plug.
