This WiFi extender does its job, though it requires you to download an app and create an account (for use with Xiaomi), and then you can actually set up the device itself. I've got other extenders and everything can be done via a browser, no app needed. While it calls itself "Pro," there's not even a LAN port which is disappointing as other extenders I have, have a LAN port and it's a really useful feature. P.S. Do not force a EUR plug in a U.K. socket because that will damage the contacts of the socket and eventually makes it hard to actually connect a plug to it. Just use an adapter, they only cost like £1 or £2.

The device didn't work as I was expecting. Quite hard to set up (simple steps to follow, but I had to reset my modem because Xiaomi did not recognize the signal), and the boost signal didn't show any difference. This is a very basic device, not for meetings or streamings. Only helps other devices to be connected to wifi.

Great little extender. Do not expect to get your full speed out of it - this is an extender. It's connected to your "main" wifi router, so if that signal is bad, the ping and upload/download speeds will be too. Mine is around 5 meters away from the main router with two fairly thin walls between it and the main router. I get 20-25 mbit/s up- and download (I have 100/100 mbit/s) when standing next to the extender, and around 10 mbit/s up- and download when standing outside the house (brick house), around 8-10 meters from it. I mainly use this for communication with my smart devices that are not in range of the main router, and since it's a 2,4GHz band extender it does the job perfectly. I am however also able to stream full HD content to my phone anywhere on the front lawn as well, so that's a nice plus. Installation is very simple via the Mi Home app, I really don't think anybody would struggle with it. Looks wise it's quite small and sleek. It's one of those devices you install and forget as it can be controlled via the app, and the firmware updates are automatic. If you need to extend the signal and the ping and speeds aren't your main concern, I would say that this extender is perfect for the job. Couldn't recommend it more personally.
