Professional, functional, and not expensive!
I got my Surface pro 3, and immediately started seeking out cases. I'm one to protect my electronics, and for what I paid for my Surface, it's no exception. My computer fits perfectly in the sleeve, keyboard included, for a snug fit that keeps the computer safe. The magnetic flap holds the case closed and is easy to open with one hand and and slide out the computer while holding the case with the other. Great for classes or anywhere you might want to whip your tablet out and take notes. The inside is soft, so if I leave the protective keyboard at home, I don't worry about the screen at all.The pen holder has still stayed together and firm, with the elastic not coming loose or snapping. It comes with a pocket under the case flap, but separate from the surface pocket; I haven't use it, but looks great for business cards, or the possibility the you just want to bring your Surface, an ID, and maybe a credit card or cash somewhere. It lets you be minimal! The back has an open flap for inserting a few sheets of paper as needed. The case covering feels leathery and strong, and has been quite durable for the time I've had it.

Great case, great value
I bought this little case to serve as a cover when I travel with my Surface Pro without the type cover (detachable keyboard). It's exactly what I wanted, thin and good-looking but simple, just a slightly padded envelope, really, and light (10.25 ounces) so it won't add a lot of weight to my shoulder bag when I'm carrying the SP as a tablet. (It will also comfortably hold the SP with the type cover on it.) The material is "composition leather," which I just learned is scraps of waste leather cut-offs ground up and bound together. I got it in brown and it looks and feels like leather to me. And one more thing: this is a great buy: $16 plus shipping, $22 total to my house. As long as it doesn't fall apart tomorrow (highly unlikely), this is a great value. One thing to fix: the Amazon description is quite good, but it lacks three useful bits of data: the weight (see above) and the outside width (13 3/8") and height (9 1/8").

Great price for a great product!
I purchased a similar item for my old SP2 but that was made by Snugg & liked it very much. So I bought one for the SP3 but unfortunately, Snugg hadn't released one for the SP3 yet hence this purchase. When I received it, the interior had an unusual odor so I let it air out for a few days & now the smell's gone for the most part. Fitment's very good although it can be snugg at first (see what I did there?!?). Until then, I recommend putting it into the compartment a little then squeezing the sides of the case a little then push it in completely. After a few times slipping it in & out, it's fine now since it's stretched out enough. FWIW, I'm very anal about bags, cases, folio's, etc. damaging electronic products so I felt comfortable with the fitment of this product. Also, fitment's fine even with the stylus attached to the side of the keyboard. Although I did mount the stylus to the elastic holder (of the case) & it wasn't as loose as I read in another review. Lastly, the magnetic flap doesn't stay closed IF you don't push in the SP3 (with the keyboard) completely. I'm not talking about jamming it in there until it breaks but you get my point, just use common sense. Oh ya, it looks very professional so you won't feel embarrassed taking it into a meeting. Overall, great price for a great product & highly recommended.

Not terrible, but only because there are no great alternatives for this type of case
It's not a bad case. A few design flaw I see:PROS:In the end, I purchased this because(1) there is no great competition for this type of sleeve with magnetic closures (neutral)(2) the price was not that bad (plus half star).CONS:(1) the pen loop with the pen in it interferes with the closing mechanism (the flap goes over the top part of the pen, not allowing the magnets to fully come into contact. You have to force it in. I'm hoping this will fix itself over time as it expands/wears with use. I'm interested if others experience this as well and if it got better over time or if perhaps i have a faulty one. (minus one star)(2) the magnets aren't super strong, so I feel like it could easily break free if it were mishandled and you tried to pick it up with the flap on the bottom (minus half star)(3) There is not "firm" material in the center of the case, so it flaps when empty as it were just leather. While it may prevent a few scuff marks, it won't offer much protection. (minus one star)(4) for being designed for the Surface Pro 3, it isn't an exact lengthwise fit. I am willing to forgive this and not count against it, because it may allow for a better fit of the device itself with the pen attached to the OEM pen loop on the type cover.(5) Initially, it is a tight fit with the type cover, but I think it will wear down and be easier over time, so I am not counting that against the device either.NOTES:It's not a bad case, and take this review with a grain of salt--here's my frame of reference: I had a Surface Pro 2 with a Snugg case that was similar. That got me spoiled because I didn't experience the design flaws I see on this one. Granted, it also didn't have a pen loop, but I would forgo the pen loop and just put inside. It was firmer and you couldn't just easily fold the case in half when it was empty.UPDATE: I was contacted by the customer service and offered a newer, improved version that was supposed to address the issues (additional magnets etc.) for free. It was promptly received. However, the one I received seemed to be a lower quality than the one I had! I struggled with this because I think the customer service was great that they offered this. However, it is hard to say that the product is any better than the one I had. The point of a review is to let other customers know about the product. However, since I firmly believe that customer service has to be factored into the product, I will upgrade one star, to a four-star review. I just hope that customers read all reviews and decide for themselves based on the experiences. Also, since my writing this review, there are plenty of good cases now available, including from Snugg.
