Bought for my husband as a gift, he loved them. Super durable and sharp. He’s been using them to cut up his deer. We’ve washed them multiple times with no rust. Great value for the money. Size as described.

This game processing kit is all you will ever need (and more, really) to process wild game in the field or even process your own home-raised meat animals. I bought to process my own rabbits and got the job done with the just the caper and skinner, which is all you will really need if you are only processing small animals like rabbits or squirrels. The shears are a bit unwieldy for my small hands and really did not work that great for cutting off the feet as I had hoped but may be more useful in dressing larger game. The knives come out of the kit super sharp and ready to work for you so be careful! The kit comes in a hard plastic carrying case, which keeps your knives together and keeps you safe when toting them around. The handles have texture as well as formed grips to prevent slippage during use. All in all, a great kit but unless you are processing big game, probably more than you need.

I have used the knives to harvest chickens, and skin and process goats. They wall work really well. Having the knife sharpener in key is super helpful. Lets talk about the saw. Tried to use the saw to split the goat into two halves, yeah the teeth on the saw are too big its more setup for wood cutting than animal. I purchased a LEM saw and I'm super happy with it. I think this kit without the saw is 5 stars.

I just used this kit to field dress a moose, and I have no complaints about the cutlery within it. Cutting through moose hide will dull a knife quicker than trying to slice open a train rail, but the sharpener brought the razor edge right back every time, and with only a few swipes. The boning saw delivered as promised, cutting easily through the sternum and pelvis (well, as easily as one can cut through a moose sternum and pelvis without using a sawzall... lol) Pretty much the only two knives I used were the caping knife and the skinner (I like using small, controllable blades when cleaning out even the biggest of game). The gut hook made slicing through the mesentery and linea alba a breeze, although it would not rip through the hide like a Wyoming Knife would. The only real complaint I have is the rib spreader. I don't think it was designed to prop open a moose rib cage, but on the other hand, I'm not sure I was trying to implement it correctly... perhaps an instructional video would help? Overall, no complaints, and I consider this a very, very good investment.

Bought this set as a gift for my oldest son who likes to carve up his own steaks & such. We aren't rich people, so trying to find a knife/game processing set that was in our price range, but still a good value can be a real challenge. This seems to be a happy medium between "economy" & "luxury." He used it right away preparing some cuts for the grill. He said he likes the grip on the handles a lot (he's a big guy) because they don't get slippery, & the edge appears to be pretty good. Nice clean cuts. It's also comes with a sharpener & hard-sided carry case, so the kit is complete. The best thing is he can put it up out of reach of his (rather short) wife so she doesn't use them for day-to-day kitchen stuff (LOL) & his teenage sons who like to use Dad's knives for things other than what they're designed to be used. Since deer season is quite a few months away, I decided to test this kit on a whole chicken within the return window. The case is pretty flimsy — I anticipate it splitting/cracking on the handle and in the slots over time. The knives seemed pretty sharp out of the box. I was able to cut the skin on the chicken with the gut hook, but I’m not sure it would handle a deer hide. The saw is terrible for bone. The teeth are too far apart, and was awkward to use, and didn’t saw smoothly, or easily through the thigh bones. The shears are ok… had to use some hard pressure to cut through the chicken ribs and other thin bones. They don’t come apart, which is bad for cleanup. Unfortunately, i didn’t closely review the return policy and am stuck with this kit. So I will still have to buy a bone saw and gut hook.
