More convenient and intuitive than expected. Update 1.5 years later.
I bought this model because it was the most affordable Touch2O model I could find at the time, despite being quite stylish. The most difficult part of this upgrade was removing my old faucet. The install instructions were clear, everything worked exactly as intended right out of the box and seems to be of good quality. My sink has 3 holes, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that this model included a matching cover plate. I was initially worried that the touch feature might be unintuitive or gimmicky, but it's quite the opposite. Turning on/off a faucet is something most of us do many many times a day and this genuinely improves the task. The faucet and handle also remain cleaner since you rarely need to touch them with your hands. As for my fears of accidently turning it on or off, they seem to be mostly without merit. The touch/hold feature solves most of the potential issues and in the unlikely event you do accidentally switch it on/off it can easily be tapped again. I could imagine a curious cat activating it with their nose though (It auto-shuts off after a few minutes). My only cons are that the downward facing veggie sprayer in a rigid tube is definitely inferior to my old, stand alone sprayer in terms of ease of use and mobility, and that the mix handle is quite short which makes precise adjustments to pressure and temperature more difficult compared to the large controls on my old faucet - however these complaints are true for really any faucet of this style. The latter issue is mostly alleviated by the touch sensor, as I rarely need to adjust the knob anyway. Update: I've had this faucet for about a year and a half. The low battery light finally came on for the first time. Your mileage will vary by use - but this was impressive to me. All the old batteries measured 1.17-1.19 V when removed and tested. Some more notes after living with this for a long time. Rarely, when I would attempt to turn it on, the light would turn on but the faucet wouldn't run. I have very hard water, so maybe it has something to do with that, or maybe because the batteries were reaching the end of their life. Simply turning it off and on again always worked. Hopefully the fresh batteries resolve it. Not gonna knock off a star for that yet. The biggest con I can think of is that there isn't really an effective way I can think of to trickle this faucet if you are worried about pipes freezing. It hasn't been a problem for me so far, but this is something to consider for some people in very cold climates. The final note is that you get really used to this thing. When I go to other people's houses I tend to tap on their faucets in a moment of confusion as nothing happens.

Works great
Great faucet. Batteries last about a year, little more.

Updated Review: MC Hammer was wrong, you can touch this.
I had been researching faucets for a few months and finally settled on the Delta Essa due to style, reviews, and value. The purchase on Amazon was less expensive than the big-box home improvement stores and with next day delivery so I ordered at 8:00 PM and Amazon delivered at 1:00 PM the next day. I also give credit to Amazon Warehouse deals for offering a Used-Like New faucet in perfect condition, just opened box, that saved $30. I have installed several faucets before, but in no way consider myself an expert. I have basic homeowner repair/installation skills and watch an instructional video before every project. That being said, I found the installation of this faucet straightforward with only two tools needed. A Phillips screwdriver was needed to tighten two screws and an adjustable wrench was needed to tighten the water supply lines. The kit came with a plastic tool to tighten the nut under the sink and everything else just connected by hand. It even came with 6 AA batteries for the touch sensor. Installation took me approximately 45 minutes, but could have been completed quicker if the underside of the sink wasn’t so difficult to access with a disposal in the way. Instructions with diagrams were generally easy to follow. The operation of the faucet is smooth with good flow. This isn’t one of those faucets with a wimpy water flow and it can be easily changed from a straight stream to a shower pattern with one flick of the switch. At first, the touch sensor operation didn’t seem to recognize the touch except on the handle. After a few minutes of just playing with it, the touch operation works flawlessly and recognizes every touch. You just need to keep the faucet in the ‘on’ position for the touch operation to work. Note that it won’t turn on/off by holding the faucet and only works by a touch/tap anywhere on the handle or faucet itself. The hot/cold light indicator is also a nice feature. I used to think the touch faucets were a silly gimmick that didn’t have any practical purpose. After using it for myself, I have found they are very convenient and prevent having to grab the handle with dirty hands and also prevents water from getting on the back splash area because you can tap off with wet hands. I found it convenient to turn on with a touch of the forearm when my hands were dirty after handling raw chicken. This is a five star product in style, functionality and value. You can purchase an optional adapter for the touch sensor so batteries don’t have to be replaced later, which Delta estimated would last two years. That is the only upgrade that I will be doing with the faucet. Overall I am very pleased with the product. Update 05/10/2020: This faucet has been installed for 5 months and 16 days and the batteries were replaced today. The indicator light started to flash when the faucet was turned on/off, giving the message that it was time to change the six AA batteries. We use the faucet often and the frequency of battery replacement probably also depends on the battery quality. I’d say six months give or take will be average for battery replacement. The two year battery life estimate from Delta seems to be a gross over exaggeration. We continue to be pleased with the overall performance of this faucet and maintain the five star review.

Convenient touch control, finicky, possible leakage when electric valve closed at high pressure.
I find the touch controls to be very convenient but I found that at maximum pressure, the electric closing of the valve allows the faucet to slowly drip. Taking one star off because it has led me to be cautious of whether I leave the handle fully open or slightly closed, as I worry about a drip. Not sure if this problem will solve itself over time or is permanent. My second minor gripe is the black gap cover at the bottom of the faucet. It would be nice if it was color-matched with the faucet. I believe it is plastic to avoid triggering the touch sensor when water is on the counter, but it does take away from the style a little. Finally, the touch control can be finicky. For example when you pull the faucet out to spray around the edge of the sink, it may turn off the water, forcing you to turn it on again, because you grazed the metal part of the faucet. It takes some fiddling sometimes.

The reviews on this product are not from the uk. Bought it and plumber eventually got it working however it will only give you warm water. Needs a different connection. It’s now in the bin. Waste of time.

I love this faucet. The Touch2O is definitely a luxury item, but it is so convenient. I have my temperature usually always at warm, with the pressure set to half, and then all you do is touch the top with one finger! After installing I found I use significantly less water, as I can turn it off and on much quicker, and because it's so much quicker Iturn it off and on, during times that I otherwise would have let it keep running ( say between washing potatoes, I now turn it off during the 2 seconds it takes to put down one potato and pick up the second one to wash. ) It is definitely high quality and I found it easy to install. The spray function stays on spray until you change it back. I like faucets that change back to the normal mode, but slipping hairs at this point. On an unrelated note, the documentary Earthlings changed my life. I suggest everyone watch it.

At my old house I had installed a Moen with MotionSense. It was pretty cool and easy to use, but was occasionally annoying with false triggers. I quite liked not having to touch the faucet at all and always having the water temp set for hands free use regardless of the handle position. For some reason the Moen MotionSense faucets are now wildly more expensive now and much more than the Delta, so when I finally got tired of dirty/wet handles at the new house I decided to give this Delta a try. As far as installation goes, its no easier or harder than any other kitchen faucet I've installed. If your plumbing is newer it will be easy, if its ancient, prepare for the worst. The water control unit and battery pack on the Delta was a fair bit simpler than the Moen, as the Moen control unit works independently of the handle setting it requires multiple water line connections whereas the Delta unit only has 1 in/1 out because it relies on the handle position for water temp and pressure. As far as usage goes, I found the water pressure to be very good. Better than my old faucet, and stronger than I remember the Moen being. The spray head is a bit different for several reasons: i) the button to switch from full to spray is a bit trickier to press than other faucets I use, and retains its setting between uses (most other faucets I've used go back to full position by themselves), ii) it only has a full or spray setting, no hold/off position iii) the spray pattern is actually quite narrow, not much wider than the full position water stream, unlike other more common spray heads that radiate outwards - the farther you spray the wider the spray, this one sprays in a straight line iv) when pulling out the spray head it doesn't tug the hose back firmly, so you guide the hose out and guide the hose back where the magnet then grabs the head. I notice the hose weight underneath is different too. Most sprayers on a hose have a weight attached to the hose to tug the spray head back in. This Delta has a weight, but its loosely around the hose not firmly attached so I think this makes the pull out and tug back force a bit lighter. Finally, the touch features. It works, not much more I can say. If you've left the handle in the right position a quick back of the hand tap gets things going without too much mess and fuss. If the previous user closed the handle, then you have to go back to the handle to get water. Family members still need reminding. The finish I chose doesn't show a lot of touch marks and is easy to clean when they do start to show up. I do miss the Moen always being at the right setting all the time, but it's certainly a lot easier to adjust the Delta if you don't have people messing with the handle too often (the Moen required adjusting a tiny wheel on the control box under the sink). I do like the water temp light at the front, bonus feature. So in summary, the Moen did some things better, the Delta does other things better, but this time, Delta's better price won the day.
