Spinning Reel 14 Underspin 80

This little reel is perfect for my 10' and 12' crappie rods. It was very easy to switch the crank handle to the other side. The reel is smooth and the bail lever is positioned perfectly, and brakes well. The drag works well and is well positioned out of the way. I've used numerous other brands of underspin reels and this one is the best bang for my buck. I have two of them and will be purchasing a third one soon.

Nice underspin reel. I use it for bream/panfishing on my 4wt fly rod. Talk about having fun fishing!

The enclosed instructions are in an Asian language; no English except for the line strength/length which are in pounds and meters. Usually the information comes in multiple languages. Well, maybe they are in multiple Asian languages.

I owned this dang thing for 2 years and I should have given up on it 2 years ago but I thought fishing is a game of patience and practice makes perfect. This thing does not cast worth a dang! It'll let the line lose for about 10 feet then suddenly get caught up on something internally and send your bait flying off the hook! I tried spooling with less line, more line, and every combination thereof. The straw that broke the camels back was today! I was 7 or 8 feet away from one of the biggest large mouth bass I ever laid eyes on. All this reel had to do was let me cast out 7 or 8 feet straight in front of me. I flung the line out and it got snagged up on something internal and sent my bait flying off the hook and land right on top of that bass. I watched the dang thing eat my worm and swim away. I angrily removed the reel from my rod and chucked that piece of trash into the water! Absolute garbage! I went to Walmart and bought what I know won't fail me, which is the plfueger open face reel and put it on my ugly stik rod that this piece of trash used to be on! Never again will I try something like this thing!

Works great on a 5 wt. fly rod. Carry with you when fly fishing - gives you the option to switch over to bait or light lures. The trigger release is awesome.

The reel is hard to use. The trigger is goofy and does not allow for accurate casts.
