CARL Corner Rounding Punch

I bought one of these YEARS AGO, probably well over 10 years with a lot of use, but one day it just fell apart. I started looking for a replacement and at other brands but then this popped up and I immediately added it to my cart. Works as well as my old one!! I dont expect to need another one for many more years to come!

Strongest, longest lasting corner rounder punch I have ever owned. I do a lot of crafting, so I am very pleased with the durability of this punch. This is only the 2nd one I have had to purchase in about 8 years.

Pros: Small, compact, 90 degree paper edge alignment works very well. does not emboss/deboss the edge of the radius as it punches like some other rounding punches do. Cut Quality: Decent, the die comes through a slot, so it actually creates cuts the paper twice, it creates a curved corner, and also a sliver "finger nail". This doesnt affect the cut quality if the finished corner, just an observation. Cuts 110# cardstock okay. The dies isn't super smooth across the rounded radius, but the radius is true. Would likeyy cut thinner paper better.

With a "5 sheet" capacity, I assumed it could handle laminates, but after several uses the cutter started to stick. The cutter eventually became permanently stuck.

Broke three. Bought three. Works best on paper. Breaks on lamination.

This item broke apart at the base the first time it was used on light weight card stock. This product is not worth the money to even try once.

Love it! It's makes my picture packaging looks so professional. It curves the edges so well.

My need for this gadget came from making stereo cards: 3 1/2" x 7" cards with a left & right stereo photo pair printed on them. I was thinking that they would look a bit nicer with rounded corners so I started looking for a punch that would handle fairly heavy photo mounting board. Most of the punches I found appear to be only tough enough for regular paper, or construction paper at the most. The CARL CPA6 is quite a heavy duty punch, and although I have to put quite a bit of pressure on it to get through the heavy card stock I use, it works very well, so I feel that I can recommend it for almost any corner punching you might want to do: photos, posters, anything.

The plastic housing broke on the second day. Crazy glue fixed it, but that's not ok.
