I have a pole lamp with three bulbs that each have their own on/off switch, but I mostly use it for room lighting and want all 3 lights on. It was getting tiresome having to always turn on 3 switches, then turn off 3 switches. I had an older outlet switch similar to this one but because of the orientation of the prongs, it wouldn't fit where this lamp is plugged in. So I was happy to see that they are being made in different orientations. This orientation worked perfectly for my lamp. It might not work perfectly for you - it all depends on your outlet and which side you want the on/off switch, so pay attention to that. Somebody complained either for this one or a similar one that the on/off positions are reversed from what they expect. I’m very much a creature of habit, and the on/off positions seem normal to me. If you want to be able to easily tell by a glance whether it’s on or off, I suggest marking it with Magic Marker, including on the side of the switch. When used for a lamp, it’s simple enough to feel for the side of the switch that is up and press it down. You don’t have to memorize which side is on and which side is off. It’s just a toggle. Press whichever side is poking up to switch it either on or off. These switches seem perfectly fine but I can't judge longevity at this point. The older ones I have, have lasted for decades, with mostly intermittent use and with low wattage items. I am expecting the same, we'll see.

I got this for my partner because a lamp he uses by his favorite chair is awkward for him to turn off, especially since he has arthritis in his hands. We have an outlet very close on a bookcase near the lamp that we plugged this switch into. Sooo much easier for him to shut off the lamp. I may get more for other lamps!

Just what I needed for my hot water kettle. I was pulling the plug after each use as it would make noises while just sitting there. This looks good and makes it easy.

This is NOT a GE unit. It is a product by Jasco with Litesun stamped on the back. That’s false advertising. I’ll probably send back, but I’ll give it a shot since I need it today. UPDATE: these worked fine. I changed my stars.

Perfect Perfect. You can place two in the receptacle and a great easy turn off turn off for things like ferry lights...or other vs. wearing out your plug and making your plug box shift location by having to pull out a plug all the time. So it provides safety also.

I love these outlet switches, I have several sets. They are especially helpful for saving power with devices that don't need to be constantly powered but are used often enough to keep plugged in. The shape is good and fits most powerstrips without obstructing other outlets. The actual switch on the side is high quality and has a satisfying click as well as a raised bump to indicate the Power On side. Highly recommended.

These are great for on off toggle switches and I have many of them so I can leave items plugged in but off!

Love this switch. Wish I had known there was such a device a long time ago. We had a kettle that does not have a switch which meant we had to plug and unplug all the time. This switch make things so much easier. Device is small and easy to use. For the price, really worth it, especially when it came in a four pack.
