HRH: So Many Thoughts on Royal Style

Not surprisingly, this is undoubtedly the most gorgeous — and the most thoughtful — book I’ve ever owned. And while I knew the photos would be gorgeous and meticulously selected from following the author’s entirely addictive Instagram account {@eholmes} before the book was even announced, I was stunned at the level of detail, the artful storytelling, the depth of insights... I absolutely devoured HRH. And I’m reading it again, now, as a companion piece to a full rewatch of The Crown. I hope this is only Holmes’ first book — it is art and it is amazing. I can’t wait to read it again and again; I can’t wait to give it as a gift {just don’t tell my friends and ruin the surprise!}! Highly, highly recommend!

I'm finding this read incredibly enjoyable! Packed with photos and all of the insightful and interesting observations, much in the same style as Elizabeth Holmes' Instagram SMT breakdowns are, but she absolutely does have so many thoughts bc she easily filled the pages with new fascinating content! A feast for the eyes and my curious mind. I am delighted by this book, and really appreciate her respectful but honest/factual treatment of all four ladies. Also, not for nothing is it the perfect size and weight to hold. Very satisfying and perfect for gifting.

I'd never followed royal fashion all that closely before. I would think "This is nice" or "Meh, I'm not crazy about that." Then Meghan Markle married Prince Harry and everything changed for me. She brought a style to the royal family that so many people, including me, could relate to. After that, I started to pay more attention to royals like Kate and the late Queen and read as much as I could on Diana, who is one of my personal heroes. I am now a massive fan of Elizabeth Holmes and SMT! In this book, Holmes chronicles, the evolution of the styles of Queen Elizabeth II, Diana, Princess of Wales, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. I especially love how she chronicled the modernization of Her Majesty's style at the turn of the century, how fashion helped Diana grow from shy teenager to confident young woman, Kate making bolder fashion choices in recent years, and Meghan wearing brands that promote causes and issues she supports. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning more about royal fashion.

HRH is the perfect book to cozy up with for the holidays and at home in the pandemic. I’ve been an avid follower of the author’s for a few years now.. and what started as a fun indulgence has become a passion and has made me rethink the importance of fashion in communicating... not just the fun! Each of the sections are great and there is something fun and interesting for all fans of the royals! Even if you’re just a casual fan it’s impossible not to get excited catching glimpses and stories behind some of their biggest fashion moments. Five stars!!! Gorgeous photos and thoughtful commentaries!!!

This is a wonderful book to pick up and read in increments when you have time, or devour in one sitting. The pictures are great, many of which I’ve never seen before. The storytelling is rich with well-done research and interesting details from people who worked closely with all of these women. I love following Elizabeth Holmes on Instagram and am so happy to be able to support her and her book. If you love interesting women, royals, fashion, and history, make room on your coffee table for this beautiful book.

Overall a very good book. Lots of beautiful pictures with lots of detailed information. A very fun and easy read. The negatives: The word sartorial gets used A LOT. To the point where it’s very grating to the reader. The handling of Meghan Markle’s section you can tell was reworked to be extremely complimentary of meghan with zero criticisms and critiques of her style. It is all glowing. I feel that this was lip service due to the media drama involving Meghan and racism. It left the section feeling flat and boring.

I have been a fan of the royals for as long as I can remember, and when Elizabeth Holmes started her incredible Instagram series So Many Thoughts, that fandom became an incredible community. This book is long anticipated and so, so worth the wait. Holmes is an incredibly talented, intelligent and gifted woman, her writing and insights are such a treasure. This book exceeded all my expectations, the only complaint I have is that I’ve finished it and I want more! Beautiful writing, stunning photographs, and a refreshing take on four powerful women. Thank you, Elizabeth Holmes!

I love this book! I enjoyed the information, photography, and overall layout. It’s also perfect to use as a coffee table book!

My wife is a big fan of the royals, so when this book came out in November I snapped it up and then gave it to her as a Christmas gift. She's finished the book and really enjoyed the fashion commentaries as well as the multiple pages of pictures showing the royal styles. Overall, this book is presented in a very professional manner and isn't gimmicky or sensationalized.
