Universal Audio Apollo Twin USB High-Resolution USB Interface with Realtime UAD DUO Processing

Make sure you scour the ua support site regarding usb 3 chipsets first. There are some that don't work well with this unit. After updating my renesas driver I was fine. It does not come with a driver disk, you will have to download the drivers, software and plugins to the computer you are installing the United on. After it is setup, everything sounds fantastic and works well with samplitude proX. I am running my profire 2626 out digitally via optical cable to expand inputs and it works well. A bit of a pain on initial setup, but there are plenty of forums and ua for support. I'm very happy with it!

Works flawlessly. You do need to follow the installation procedures otherwise it will an ordeal. Oh and make absolutely sure that you have a compatible USB 3 connection. My only complaint is the UA only support Windows. No Mac USB! Hey some us have older Mac's.

Although a really solid preamp on this unit there is quite a few things that are not posted that I think you should know if you plan to buy this. 1 its processor is quite small, it can handle 4 plugins max and the unison plugins i found cannot be used together, they disable each other. If you up the recording quality i found at 192khz it handled 2 plugins max at a time. The preamp sounded amazing, bottom line. Every other plugin I found to be about the same quality to be honest as other vst plugins with the exception of the preamps which unfortunately the other vst plugins don't have. You are paying extra for them to license the names in their plugins for sure. In that I was quite dissappointed. In truth if you already own a good sound unit like for example i have a focusrite saffire pro 24, the UAD unit is very comparable in sound quality. The bonus was supposed to be that it has no latency and could run these great plugins, again some are some aren't. They do let you demo all the plugins at least for 2 weeks. It cannot run any other type of vst or other plugins though, only theirs, it would be kind of nice. Here would be the bottom line - if you have a good unit like I do with me saffire and use other vst plugins, it is much cheaper to buy faster bigger memory for your pc. If you are without any unit and are shopping for 1 this would be a very solid unit, again note most of the plugins minus the few included are NOT free. I also have a problem where none of the plugins that came included with the unit actually registered right, I contacted customer support, they are not open until Monday, but I am decided on just returning the unit instead.

Really happy with the purchase and workflow of the product. Working with no issues at all on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. I'm tracking through ProTools, but I will also be trying Abelton in the next week or so. But so far so good!

This sound card is practically useless.I meet every last requirement. I'm running windows 7, 8 GB of ram, Asus P8Z68-V LX ,USB 3 Is built into my mother board and got a Core i7-3770K. This is almost a crime to sell this sound card. The only sample rate that works is 88200. So dropping the buffer size equals not even been able to play midi without a massive amount of pop's and cracks. I followed everything to a T from the troubleshooting and not a single thing worked. Also this sound card is not even recognize by windows speech recognition.

This is an amazing piece of hardware, quality wise. But came in defective or damaged thru delivery. Refund process has been a bit of a nightmare.. no option to just swap for another one. So i sent it back, and its taken too long to get this refund.. especially considering im just going to buy it again. Thank god i held on to my old audio interface, or i wouldve been out of comission for over a week!

This interface sounds fantastic. I also have the Apogee Ensemble Thunderbolt and this Universal Audio interface is easily on par in terms of audio quality. The ability to use the powered plugins for mixing or recording is fantastic. The drivers are very stable as are the plugins in use.
