Bought this to replace the same exact model that I purchased what feels like over 10 years ago, if not more. Had to replace the old one because one of the handles snapped. Despite what others have mentioned in their reviews, quality does feel the same to me as my previous one. The way the hamper is designed, one handed use is easy to achieve. While I might not want to carry it down the street to the laundromat with only one hand, it is more than comfortable enough to carry with one hand within your house to and from your laundry room. The one handed use is what led to the handle snapping - it puts a bit of torque on the plastic at the top that eventually cracked it. So why would I buy another one? Because there don't seem to be any other hampers that offer similar qualities. The large capacity in a vertical format. The durability of plastic versus a mesh carrying bag. The one-handed carryability. The relatively low cost. I spent a fair bit of time trying to find a replacement option and ultimately came back to this one (happy that I did!). And the old hamper with the broken handle? Still usable to hold toys that aren't carried around as much (used clippers to shear off the broken handle). Good reuse!

The best laundry basket!!

This was a nice large laundry basket that is very easy to use. It is flexible yet sturdy. The reason I only gave 4 stars is because one of the handles cracked all across the seam on top. I felt it would have been better to use a soft rubbery material for the handle. It still functions and holds a large load of laundry.

At 1.5 bushels, it’s large enough to hold a good load of clothes, towels, or even sheets, but the flexible design and soft handles make it far easier to carry than rigid baskets. I like that I can grip it comfortably and even maneuver it with one hand when needed, which comes in handy when I’m balancing laundry with other tasks. The plastic feels sturdy yet has a slight give, so it doesn’t dig into my sides the way harder baskets sometimes do. A couple of things to keep in mind: because it flexes, it won’t stack as neatly as a rigid basket, so storage could be a consideration if you have several. Also, if you overload it with heavy items like wet towels, it does bend a bit more, so it’s best suited for normal household loads. Bottom line: A durable, comfortable-to-carry basket that makes laundry less of a chore, especially if you’re hauling clothes up and down stairs or between rooms.

This is the style I prefer as it’s easy to carry up and down the stairs since you can grab both handles with one hand. The basket is flexible. We’ve had this type before. Oddly the cover of the handles sometimes comes partially unattached but it snaps back on easily.

I love Rubbermaid products, hence why I bought it, but the handles on this laundry basket easily breaks and pops off and I have to put them back on. I already have several broken pieces from the handle that broke off when I first received the item thinking that it was only one piece that was going to break …. No… over the course that I have used it; pieces seem to break and the handles still pop off and I have to continuously popping it back into place. Very disappointed with this product.

This is a great laundry basket. I just purchased it for the second time. The first I got in 2014 and the handle just now broke, ten years later, and that is likely due to my habit of cramming it too full and forcing the handles together. It’s lightweight yet sturdy and makes toting laundry up and down two flights of stairs easy. It does hold a lot of clothes and the handles are comfortable. I hope this one lasts as long if not longer than the first. Definitely recommend this basket!

I don’t get any other laundry basket anymore. The hard ones crack if you abuse them (which I guess I do because they always crack), and I don’t want to have to launder my laundry basket so anything that might need cleaning like cloth or wicker is out of the question. This is easy to carry with one hand since it’s flexible enough for the handles to come together, it’s low enough to fit under the dryer door so it’s easy to empty the drier into. I used to cheap out with the $10 terrible laundry baskets but this is so much more durable it’s worth spending a little more for it.

My husband keeps breaking his fabric laundry hampers ... this big rubber one works perfectly! Holds lots of clothes, and is really durable

I had one of these flexible laundry baskets years ago which one of my adult children claimed when they moved out. Since then, I’ve gone through multiple laundry baskets as they all seem to crack over time. Meanwhile, after more than a decade, the original laundry basket is still going strong. I was delighted to finally find a replacement. As long as my other child doesn’t try to make off with it, this ought to be the last laundry basket I ever have to purchase.
