Quality hat that still looks good 11 years later
This is my son's favorite hat and takes it on all outdoor adventures... including the zoo and other theme parks. I love all the pictures I have of him looking so stylish and having fun in this hat. It's been in the family for 11 years and still looks very good. The feather is still beautiful. Today I had to add a bit of glue because the feather fell off and it made me curious on how long we had it. I originally bought it for my older son, but a few years ago my younger son asked to borrow it to play Indiana Jones and his big brother let him keep it because it looked so good and he had such much joy in wearing it. Wow, 11 years. That deserves a 5 star review if ever a hat does. I love the real wool and the quality craftsmanship.

Good quality hat that you don't have to worry about keeping in a hat box.
I have several hats and a lot of them are Bailey, a couple Stetsons and I needed an everyday hat that will take the wear and tear of work, I n and out of the truck and the weather. This hat has seen it all, the rain, being crushed, sat on, dropped, spilled on and the likes. It held up to it all and retained its shape and come right back to the original way it was. The color is really nice it's a good thick felt material and not cheap at all it came with feathers I took my feathers out. This hat has a leather accent band around it which is very nice and thick. The fit is true to size so measure your head with a tape measure and order correctly I put a couple of pieces of the foam that the hat came in, cut into strips and placed them inside the band to give thr hata tight fit to hold during the windy days. Hope this helps and if you get this hat, I'm sure you'll enjoy it For the price you just can't beat it for everyday wear or something that you want to grab and go out the door in a hurry but still looks good enough to go out in y'all have a great day. 😉

Runs 1.5 large (metric) but good value for the money
Good value for the money. The stupid feather can be removed with some work. Unlined hat, which is nice for a travel hat. I removed a few stitches in the band and pulled out the stiff white label and tossed that and restitched it. Looks a lot nicer inside, less like a costume hat. The hat runs about 1.5 larger than the sizing chart says so you need to adjust accordingly. I wear a 58 in an Akubra so I tried a Large like the chart said. Rattled like a BB in a boxcar. Then I tried a Medium (56-57). It still needed a bit of padding in the sweatband. BTW, dump the foam they provide and get some plain old felt like kids use (white is a good color) and cut a couple of half inch wide strips and use that. The foam will break down very fast if you use it.

Really nice.
Very comforable and stylish. Warm too. Keeps it's shape no matter what you do to it. Great for a cold snowey day and has a chin strap that keeps it on in strong wind.

Love everything about this hat!
This could be the best made hat I’ve ever owned. Construction is solid, stylish design, great color options, fits beautifully, holds up well. Just flew cross country wearing this and jammed it into overhead compartments on two flights. You would never know it, retains its shape perfectly. I’ve been wearing this off and on for less than a month and have received more compliments from random strangers than anything I’ve ever worn. Totally worth the price.

My husband loves this hat
A tour member on a group earlier this year had this hat and my husband asked him about it. Naturally he "had" to have one for our travels. It is a great hat. We used it on a recent - and rainy - trip to Europe and the hat lived up to its advertising. It was easy to "crush up" (watch the videos online for the best way to "fold/crush" the hat for packing) and definitely repelled the rain. I foresee many years of use for this hat. Well worth the price.

So glad I got this, best hat ever- half price of Stetson
I needed something more than a baseball cap to keep sun off my face and ears, and a warm hat for colder weather. This hat has got lots of compliments (a guy in the mall yesterday said he "wants me to give him my hat"). I told him where he could buy one himself. The wool of the hat keeps my head warm and stays on in moderate wind. The color is good (I got the dark brown) and the wool quality is every bit as good as a comparable Stetson, for half the price. Sizing: I'm about a 7.25 hat size, diameter of my head is just under 23". So I'm normally between a med and large. I opted for a medium and it was a bit tight. But I used a hat stretcher on it a few times, stretched it maybe an extra half inch, now it's perfect: snug but not tight. I love this hat, it looks great and gets a lot more positive attention than I expected. It will probably last a long time since I'll only wear it in fall-winter-spring. It might be too warm for summer. The only thing I didn't like about it was the cheap synthetic leather hat band with the feather. Feathers are fine, but just not my thing. I replaced it with a custom horsehair band... Much better. I can't speak to the water resistance because I haven't worn it in rain yet, but I imagine it will shed a fair amount of water.

Great Hat, as advertised.

Well-made and comfortable and with a good tug it stays put in the wind. It looks good but just a bit more “Western” than I prefer but now I am comfortable with it and wouldn't change a thing. It is totally crushable, mine was laying under several winter jackets and came out fine.

Hat is OK. I bought this one from the USA via amazon uk. Took 6 days to get here in a non crushable box and cost £15 less.

First off let me say this is a great hat and I would absolutely buy another one. Don't hesitate to buy one. I got the Chocolate color in medium. I will list pros and cons. Dont get turned off by the cons. They arent dealbreakers for me. They are just little things that would make the hat better for its price. Pros: 1. Truly crushable. Over time it would damage it if it was just totally abused. But if it gets crushed it will not get damaged easily. It is also water resistant and has held up in rain just fine. It isnt as heavy as some other felt hats in this style out there but it should hold up no problem. 2. Fits great. I am usually a size 57- 58 medium. I usually fit most brands medium. Scala/Dorfman Pacific say I am between M leaning to Large by their charts. But i trusted the reviews that said they size larger. I stuck with medium and it fit just right, didnt need to add sizing tape or anything. 3. Looks great! Holds its shape well. Looks like a high quality hat. Very sharp. This type of outback fedora will never go out of style, its a timeless look. Mine was crafted beautifully and looks as good or better than the photos. Cons (and theyre minor, not deal breakers) 1. Crown is a little short for me. Would be nice if it har a half inch extra height. 2. No chinstrap, but I would expect one at this price. The hat is lighter in weight than other felt/wool hats i have and is at risk of being lost to the wind. Luckily this is an easy fix. Drill a hole, install an antique eyelet on each side using a grommet tool. Purchase a chinstrap and install. Could be done in just a few minutes - which is a modification I will do very soon to this one. 3. The outside hatband. At this price of over $150 I would expect real leather or at least better stitching as the band rides up a little at the front and back. My personal taste is that a lighter color might have looked better with the chocolate brown hat or maybe a slightly wider band. Not a huge deal as it still looks really great. 4. Brim is non adjustable. Not a big deal at all, just would prefer if it was adjustable. The hat still holds a great shape and looks amazing and is functional. 5. No crown ventilation. One thing with these wool and felt hats is that in hot weather they can really get hot. Luckily if you have a hand drill and some 4mm antique eyelets you can easily add a few ventilation holes in just a couple of minutes if you felt the need. I may make this modification to this hat. 6. Price. For what it is, its expensive compared to other hats of similar or better quality. Its probably closer in quality to a $80-100 hat than a $150 hat. You can get the same exact type of hat by bellmora or silver canyon for $80-100 on amazon, so I dont think these dorfman pacific scala classico ones should be priced so much higher for an item that is basically interchangeable. So if you can find it for lesser price, it would be more appropriate in my opinion. Still a great hat. The cons are the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. If it didnt have the little issues at this price it would get 5 stars. If it were cheaper and as is, it would also get 5 stars.
