Great Puzzle, challenging and attractive
Great puzzle - the pieces are not all shaped like typical puzzle pieces, there are some pretty unorthodox shapes and it adds an extra level of challenge. The pointilism in the painting also makes this one particularly difficult. Great fun, it took a group of four adults 5 days at the beach to finish it. My only complaint is that the black square on the box obscures a significant portion of the guide image. Not the end of the world, but a little annoying. I recently got another puzzle that had a stand built into the box. This one doesn't have that. A guaranteed hit for New Yorker fans and fans of New York and Central Park.

Melting Pot
A turn-of-the-century, working class, immigrant neighborhood is the theme of this New Yorker cover by Beatrice Tobias from November 18, 1939 – one of two she did for the iconic magazine. It’s an excellent subject for a puzzle with its play off the word “build” as in communities, a life, a milieu - or a puzzle. It's a historically vibrant and beautifully painted picture of street life in post-Depression but pre-WWII America. My teen daughter and I worked this puzzle over a holiday weekend. Our building time turned into bonding time as we talked about our family’s immigrant history, and living in big cities with street vendors, pushcarts and store fronts still part the local NYC economy. The picture in this puzzle told a story of a time, a place, and a people. The best story, though, was the one we shared while puzzling together. A great puzzle to build as a family project. Just set it up on a 32" folding card table in a common space, and see what happens.

Wish box was cuter but fun none the less
Way harder than I expected. Very enjoyable. Will keep. I wish the box was more aesthetic, similar to the piecework boxes but you can’t have everything. Quality was good. Large puzzle but fit perfectly on my island

Good puzzle
I love doing these puzzles. This particular puzzle had many pieces that had not been separated. I don’t remember this being a problem before but I don’t want to spend time separating pieces.

Challenging puzzle
Bought this puzzle as a birthday for someone who read the New York times. The pieces are more detailed making it slow going while putting it together.

Great drawing and a fun puzzle. 1,000 pieces is very challenging - but it is a quality product. Excellent pieces and it is clear that it is better than a cheap puzzle. Very enjoyable.

Got this puzzle to put together over a summer weekend break by the sea. I love the theme and fun illustration of the puzzle. It was challenging enough for the weekend. 3 of us put it together over 4 days dipping in and out of it. Who am I kidding (2 evenings working at it)? The variety of shapes helped us as you can match the shape to the area. Good quality, well cut and well made. Very happy.

It is quite complex because of the special cut pieces but highly recommend it if you don’t mind a challenge.

New Yorker puzzles have quirky pieces and I love jigsaws with quirky pieces. All the pieces were there. I am yet to buy any puzzle with a missing piece.
