Moreover, the doll's head is made of porcelain and painted completely by hand. The doll has a porcelain base, which gives it added stability. This fine doll is wearing a tsarina outfit that was in use before Peter the Great. On the 11th and 13rh of February 1903, the St. Petersburg's Winter Palace saw one of the most grandiose balls in its history - a masquerade, where the most important members of the Russian nobility wore amazing costumes from the pre-Peter the Great era. To this day, this remains one of the most amazing balls to ever take place in the Winter Palace and the most famous ball ever conducted by Nicholas II!
