Slip-Stop Ultra Stop Low-Profile Non-Slip Rug Pad for Area Rugs and Runner Rugs, Rug Pad for Hardwood Floors 6 x 9 ft

Ordered the 8 x 10 rug pad a few months ago and have used it enough now to absolutely confirm that the pad works and we are very happy with the purchase. Have hardwood floor and room-sized oriental rugs in the major rooms, but smaller rugs in the entrance foyer and hallways. These smaller rugs tend to slide on the hardwood when our kids come blasting through, or whenever our crazy golden retriever decides it is time to do a little rug-surfing down the hallway! We cut this 8 x 10 pad into four pieces to fit under a 14 x 3 hallway runner and two smaller rugs (one 5 x 4 and the other 5 x 3). The pad cut very easily... actually, we really didn't have to 'cut' it at all -- the pad is made of rubber that is formed into a tight grid pattern. We just measured the size of the carpet and marked the pad, then ran open scissors (a fairly new, sharp pair) down the row of the grid that we marked. It was very fast and easy and I covered 10 feet of cutting in maybe 20 seconds. Our measurements allowed for the pad to be about two inches smaller than the carpet, all the way around. After measuring and cutting, we followed a similar routine to other reviewers: * Turned the rug upside down on the floor and vacuumed it well * Placed the pad on top of the underside of the rug and made sure there was at least 1 inch more carpet than pad * Cut about 20 2-inch long pieces of black duct tape and set them aside for use * Taped one corner as a starting point using one piece of tape on each of the corner's two sides * From that first corner, smoothed the pad and taped the other corner of the same end (placing tape between the corners) * Slowly worked our way down the pad, smoothing the pad and putting tape along the edge about every two feet * Turned the rug right side up, set it in place and vacuumed one more time. Now you can still grab the rug and pull it around if you need to, but it does not slip when the kids or dog come bounding in. We will be back to order at least one more to go under the 8 x 12 carpet in our entrance foyer! If you are looking for an inexpensive, effective, easy-to-use non-slip rug pad like this, we highly recommend this one.

Product is exactly as described and does exactly what it should.

This helps protect the hardwood floor under our runner carpet, and it keeps the runner from sliding around a LOT, but it's a little bit too thin to do the latter job fully. The runner carpet regularly slides around a little bit, not enough to be remotely hazardous, but enough that once a week or so, I need to re-adjust the carpet because this rug pad is showing along the edges. Since our carpet is in a hallway with a doorway to one side, traffic on the carpet isn't in all directions equally, so there's a net force that causes it to push a little bit in one direction. It seems to be so thin that it grips the smooth floor well, but doesn't provide enough friction against the backing of the carpet. A thicker version of this would almost certainly hold the carpet in place better.

These solved the problem of area rugs slipping on my wood floor. The rugs no longer move even a skoch.

This is a great product at a great price. Eventhough I have been using this rug pad for a month and a half, I am still waiting to see how well it performs. I have it under my kitchen table on a hardwood floor. The rug pad performs great as advertised: keeps the rug firmly in place. I was skeptical because of reviews that claimed it will stick to hardwood floors. So far, this has not happened as I pull it up from time to time to check, especially where there is heavier, more steady weight on the rug. I am seeing a pattern leftover from the pad, but I also have a high gloss finish on my floor. I know two other people that have used this pad and they have more natural, satin finishes on their floors. I will continue to monitor, but so far, so good. This is a great value for this product.

I recently purchased this pad after reading the reviews. I love it. It was larger than needed but very easy to cut to the size needed. I have hardwood floors and other inexpensive pads bunched up when my cats slid into them. This pad is true to its name non-slip. I used the cut off part under a runner that the cats were always bunching up. It now stays in place, and both rugs now feel padded. I am seventy years old and have a falling problem. Before adding this pad, I almost tripped several times on these two rugs. I am going to purchase more for the throw rugs that have lost part of their backing. This is a terrific product and very reasonably priced.

Worked as described.

I hate the price of rugs, and the worse is how you've got to shell out money for a floor protector so that it doesn't slip around and scuff up your floors. So in this regard, I always buy cheap floor protectors (usually from the local big box hardware store). This time I bought it from Amazon. This product was the cheapest one with the most reviews, but I was shocked at the quality. It is a nice thick, durable, soft pad. The dimensions were precise, but I still trimmed about an inch off from each side. Trimming is a breeze. Overall, this pad is more than adequate to do the job of protecting your floors and holding the rug still.

Used under a machine washable rug atop ceramic tile. Grips well, safety of the mat is greatly improved. Can easily be trimmed with scissors to fit the size of the rug as required.

Had a slight odor when we pulled it out but that dissipated quickly. We bought this because placing the rug directly on our floor resulting in micro scratches all over our hardwood floors, which we wanted to mitigate going forward. We cleaned the area well and put this down first - and it’s slightlt larger than the states size. It’s also not completely square - we had to trim it to get it completely flush with our carpet. It doesn’t provide any extra paddding - in fact we couldn’t even tell it was there. It does however prevent the carpet from sliding, and seems to be doing a good job about protecting the floor. So it did the job we bought it for. I have actually purchased two more in different sizes to put in other rooms - would definitely buy again. Removed one star because of how long it took to put down and try to get straight, but that’s probably true with all of these products.
